coffee_rules
Too sad we have to move on from Dravid so soon. I guess given the WC debacle and Eng series loss, he opted out himself when people ask him why did he give up. Personally I had no problems with his safety-first approach, as that would bring the losses down, can live with draws (near wins/moral victories) and wins. Who would you think the next captain would be? Tendulkar, Ganguly, Dhoni, Yuvraj, Kartik (for tests) and Uthappa (for ODIs), Laxman, Kumble, Please add a poll. My choice would be Tendulkar. Sooda
I would say Yuvraj but he isnt even first choice batsman VVSL Link to comment
yoda
We need to move forward. I voted for Dhoni. Could be him or Yuvraj. Link to comment
sandtest
ODIs --- One and Only Yuvraj Singh Tests -- Anil Kumble ( Till Yuvraj regains his permanent position in test format). Period. Link to comment
The Outsider
Voted for other - God. Link to comment
Mr. Wicket
Split the captaincy - Laxman for tests, Dhoni for ODIs (and test vice-captain). Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Gone for Yuvraj Link to comment
ludhianvi
depends on whether we are looking for a short term or long term. Most of the players are quite old in cricketing terms. So I'd go for youngsters Dhoni or Yuvraj. But Yuvraj doesnt even find a place in the playing 11. There doesnt seem to be a youngster established at the Test level yet. So I'd give it to one of the seniors for a year or two Link to comment
King Tendulkar
In 1 more year I am sure we would have good candidtae. Now none are satisfactory. Kathick in one year would have been perfect but to early now Link to comment
dial_100
Its is really sad that we forced one to retire. Honestly, we dont even have a choice...So any other TDH will be okay now.. SRT, SG and RD, AK wont accept that job. Link to comment
Dravid
laxman captain?? he has got like 2-3 series left in him vote for god for both formats Link to comment
King Tendulkar
Take a punt on yuvraj. He could be ganguly like and fire up the team. If yuvi does become skipper then laxy or gangs will have to leave the test team. I feel selectors may go for a stop gap veteran to be captain strictly fo one year only so as to avoid tough selction decisions or even worse split the captaincy to avoid tough selection choices. I think there is no doubt dada will be trying all his political tricks to get the job back and in his eyes complete his recent journey back. Link to comment
Dravid
dada has said he dosent want to become a captain.. Link to comment
King Tendulkar
dada has said he dosent want to become a captain.. Has he???? Thank god for that! Suprised by that. Shows our players are not as selfish and motivated by money etc as we think. Dravid, Sachin and Gangs dont want to captain. What happened to the sterotypical selfish indian cricketer:haha: Link to comment
coffee_rules
Voted for other - God. But isn't God already in the list? Link to comment
Predator_05
What sh*tty options. I have gone for Kumble. Another short-term, papering-over-the-cracks type fix. Link to comment
The Outsider
But isn't God already in the list? Was referring to ab bhagwaan hi maalik hai kind of God, rather than the God of Indian cricket. Link to comment
Gambit
Looking at the votes cast, Indian fans are quite divided. Link to comment
