SLICKR392 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 "If you look at England they go out of their way to support the associate cricket nations in their region including Holland, Ireland and Scotland by allowing their players to play in their county and league cricket and helping them with coaching programmes," Khan said. "In comparison in South Asia although they are four Test playing nations Pakistan, India, Sri Lanka and Bangladesh we don't get that kind of support from them except Pakistan. India has the influence and money to do a lot for Afghanistan cricket if they want. But so far we are still waiting," Khan said. He pointed out that the moment India starts providing proper support and encouragement to Afghanistan cricket, it would quickly move forward. "There is a lot of passion for cricket in Afghanistan and they are good players but we suffer mainly because we don't have a domestic cricket structure. We don't get enough matches even in this region alone. Pakistan has supported us a lot but we still need support from the other cricket nations in this region particularly India," Khan added. http://sports.ndtv.com/cricket/news/item/203357-india-has-not-done-enough-for-us-says-afghanistan-coach-kabir-khan?utm_source=dlvr.it&utm_medium=twitter LET US POACH EM !!!! :bandit:
shuraim Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 khan is right.about time to do something for the betterment of cricket.
Ultimate_Game Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 I say let's import their fast bowlers :two_thumbs_up: They can be allowed to play domestic tourneys & IPL, and in return we poach their fast bowlers just like what England does with Scottish and Irish players
Dumbbells Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Both Nepal and Afghanistan need our support. BCCI should do something for these folks. Both Nepal and afghan would be wonderful addition for world cricket.
Spiderguy252 Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Don't know about Nepal, but Afghanistan needs some heavy BCCI funding to help out their domestic set-up, etc. And yeah, a fast bowler or two wouldn't hurt. :)
Nova Posted February 10, 2013 Posted February 10, 2013 Knocking on wrong doors. Can't expect this from BCCI as they are busy filling their own pockets.
Hafeez Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Still i Rate Afghan pacers ahead of Indian pacers Left arm Tall Afghan pacer speed 140kph Ave (Good bowler) Hamid hassan Great fast bowler speed 140kph (world class bowler)
Precambrian Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Without ICC support AFGHAN wouldbt be even playing. And without Bcci ICC too.
vamos_rafa Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 We have been busy with SL till now. Afghans ka bhi number aayega
Needforspeed Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Isn't it the job of ICC to promote cricket in different parts of the world? Anyway 75-80% if ICC funding comes from India. Anyway I dont understand why people feel that India is obliged to give financial help to Afganistan. Whats in it for us? BCCI better focus properly on developing cricket in India. Cricket in Afganistan started with the Pakistani refugee camps and therefore links with Pakistan are understandable. Probably one of the reasons why India has been keeping away. Anyway I thought that Afgans were already participating in the domestic Pakistani tournaments.
kubrickian Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 India has done a lot for cricket in countries where cricket is struggling like SL, Pak, BD, WI, NZ and associate nations like Afghanistan, Nepal because 85 % revenue for ICC comes from this country itself. Cricket would have been dead in a lot of places if not for the money that's generated from India. I find it strange that not enough people give India credit for that.
shuraim Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 Bcci the most ignorant cricket board ,making name for wrong reasons.
King Khan Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 I say let Pakistan fail/give-up on them first, then India can go ahead helping them. Otherwise any help from BCCI, will be seen as success & gratitude of Zaka's PCB. Anyway AFAIK quite big number of Afgans who replaced Paki cricketers are now playing in franchise leage in Bangladesh surely making good enough money.
jf1gp_1 Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 who the hell came up to help us when we were trying to establish our cricket ? Do england, holland, ireland come and help us establish our football setup? These afghans have reached a state where they always look for outside help, they talk about pride etc then do it yourself and stop begging.
Clarke Posted February 11, 2013 Posted February 11, 2013 They could come and play some league cricket and use what's available, our facilities & infra although not great will be better than what they have at their disposal :dontknow:
Haarkarjeetgaye Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 we can give you Indian citizenship ?
punjabi_khota Posted February 12, 2013 Posted February 12, 2013 Our resident Pathan SRK should take up their cause :protest:. KKR mein bharti karo Kabir uncle ko
