Can we please pick players who can play in Tests AWAY and home!

One player who is a must on tours away from the SC is Irfan Pathan. Hopefully he is fit and firing before the SA series. DK did very well in Eng and SA as an opener, so probably its time for us to give him another chance at the top of the order as the away tours loom. Among the younger lot, Rayudu looks technically best equipped to be successful on away tours. has been brilliant on the A tours and looks ready for international cricket now. Among the pacers Shami Ahmed has to be picked. It's a pity Pankaj hasn't been given any opportunity. With his height and the ability to hit the deck hard, could have been a good choice for these away tours.

Until Srinivasan goes and Dhoni goes with him, India will continue to be the biggest joke of the world game, always bullying everyone with our cash power but being a team so pathetic that we have to prepare absolutely ridiculous pitches to scrape wins at home (but Dhoni is so dreadful that against England he even lost after getting the doctored pitches he had been whining about) before getting raped overseas as usual. Of course Dhoni will continue to come up with bizarre excuses as he knows with Srinivasan in charge, he can lose another 8-0 and still continue to be the captain.

what the hell they were smoking when they planned those 5 test matches in Eng..!! We plan 2 tests series at home and will play 5 tests away, with such crappy team. Downright stupid. Agony in that series will last really long :((. I hope that BCCI will trade atleast 2 testmatches for 5 ODI's before we start on that tour.

^^ Eng tour of 2014 is a full tour- 5 tests, 5 ODis and 2 t20s. Like the last time, Lanka also tour England before us, play just 2 tests. ECB should seriously consider giving them the extra test. 5 tests vs a weak Indian side is a little too much of a wallop.

Ever since their inception back into test cricket, South Africa has been strong and previously we had ENG SAF being 5-test affairs but although Saffers are better now a days, they get just 3 or 4 match series against England and Australia. Ever since IPL has started, BCCI always has been allowing more away series to stronger nations like Australia, England and South Africa to keep its bargaining chips when asking them to send their players to play in IPL. Hence we can see us playing 5 tests in England whereas they play 4 in India in the next two tours. It is the money minded hacks at BCCI who are going to ruin our test record against all teams unless we can somehow win overseas.

Secondly, I want a spinner like Sarabjit Laddha in the team, a wrist spinner who extracts something from the surface, can turn it both ways and gets some turn. Thirdly, I would like the selectors to point out spinners who give the ball a real rip. I hear that Rasool does that. Fourthly, the management must make sure that Ashwin and other spinners bowl with effort rather than just placing the ball there.
