Frankly winning on these kind of tailor made dustbowls is not even enough to bring a smile to the face forget about laughing. I am also aware of things like home advantage but there has to be a good balance maintained in all aspects of the game to enjoy a cricket match. In India spinners are always going to play a pivotal role, but currently the role of fast bowlers has become ornamental. We have an opposition with really poor spinners because we all saw what good spinners did to the Indian batting a couple of months back. Don't fool yourself into believing that the team has improved even an iota since the 0-8 thrashings. Pujara's rise has been compensated by the loss of Zaheer and we remain as poor a team as we were 1 year back. No lessons have been learned, no long term planning has been implemented. 0-5, 0-4, and 0-4 awaits us in England, South Africa, and Australia over the next 2 years.

I wouldn't call this pitch a "dustbowl", you're being too harsh.

As we found out getting giddy by racking up wins on those pitches was like a diabetic digging into ice cream and chocolate cake for short term bliss.

Yes it is and no one considers this as a measure of success in South Africa. But, it is important to do well in these conditions as well.

A good Indian Pitch Imo is one where there is enough bounce for pacers and spinners and wicket is abrasive.It brings both Spinners and Fast bowlers in to the game.Bounce breeds quality.It encourages both good batsman and bowlers.To credit of australia Pitches were to the nature of grounds when we toured.

For me pitches like Bangalore and Mohali last time Australia toured would be good Indian wickets which had true bounce for the most part, reverse swing, and assistance for good spinners.
