Credit to England but in all fairness' date=' I do feel that it was more due to our loss of confidence that we lost the series..I mean Panesar..20 something wkts???[/quote'] It was not about Panesar alone, but to do with the fact that the other bowlers Swann and Anderson bowled tight spells and built the pressure which allowed Panesar to take the wickets. If the batsman is kept bogged down for few overs at a time with no poor delivery, he is bound to go after the bowling to release the pressure and get out. Aussies dont have this. Even though Lyon bowled decently in the first test, the other bowlers (Siddle, Starc) bowled poorly and allowed the batsmen to get set. And once set on Indian pitches our players can wreak havoc. In this test, the Australian bowling attack was doing well till Maxwell and Warner for a few overs bowled utter tripe and released all the pressure.

Our team is batsman-centric. True. When opposition can break our batting line up our bowling will invariably follow suit.

Our spinners need lots of runs on the board to bowl at. If a team just scores 200+ on a relatively flat track, all the opposition batsmen need to do is score a few boundaries and Dhoni will spread the field allowing easy singles to be milked.

KP. Compare the two scenarios KP almost did a Mike Hussey on England. had he not been there, I doubt England would have comeback into the 2nd test despite having Panesar. His 186 on that turning track was the knockout punch for the series as it totally derailed Ashwin.

We did not play to our potential too. We did beat similar England team in 2008. Look SRT, Viru bar first test, GG were completely out of sorts. Kohli and Dhoni also failed. Only one batsman stood up and that was Pujara. OUr strength is batting and that failed big time. It was not like they were facing Swann and Panesar for first time.

If England come back they would cream us even better, as they got taste of the conditions already. Swann and Panesar were much better than any spinner we have on display in this series. Cook and KP handled spin very well and given a chance they'll do that once again. Also this is one of the weekest Australian side you would ever see. If your top 5 of top 6 of your test batting order reads like Cowan, Warner,Hughes,Watson and Maxwell, then you know that you got few problems with you batting. Their bowling would have been okay to good in home conditions but here in India they have been rendered ineffective. Can't wait until next ashes when they would be whoopped by pommies.

I would say difference is Gumbir Yuvraj Zaheer Presently not in the playing XI... if those three still there even Aussies can trash us...

Main reason is Australia are **** at the moment while England played extremely well, they had a much better batting line-up and much better spinners. Also, i think the defeat to England hurt some of the players.

gumbhir would hav done better than sehwag,,,,,,yuvraj-i know he is not good enough for test team still he would have thrashed doherty and maxwell,,,, zaheer-couldnt have done worse than ishanntt...
