What is different?

England in India. On spin-friendly pitches. Creamed us. Australia in India. On spin-friendly pitches. Get creamed by us. Twice. Is it that the Ozzie spinners are not in the same league as GPS/MP? Is it that the Ozzie bats can't handle spin like Cook/KP etc. did? Or is it that the Indian players all of a sudden are hitting the right notes? Is Ashwin fitter? Is Dhoni making better decisions? Did Duncan take a "how to coach" seminar during the break? Is Bhuvan the good-luck charm? Is it Jadeja's tight spells that make Ashwin that much more effective? In other words, if the Poms came back now, would we beat them like in the "Angrezon ki pungi" commercials?

Aussie spinners are pathetic. Ashwin is bowling tighter. Aussie batters are looking clueless. Few of our bats have decided to play the long innings.

Why now? Why not then? You think we could beat the Poms now?

Well Aussie bowling sucks, so few of our bats are able to play longer. If we play the Poms now, we will still lose.

cook and kp was the difference, they didn't give the wickets easily to our spinners nd frustrated them which lead to tired bowlers bowling pies and English batsmen cashed in. It is very important to play long patient innings at subcontinent pitches, and runs come easily when you frustrate bowlers. oz batsmen don,t have patience to apply themselves for patient long innings and wickets are coming very easily for our spinners which makes them look good.

Positive, agrressive batting - Even in the first innings we were 4 down for 200 but MSD/Kohli changed that.Sometimes one innings can instill confidence in the entire team..similar to Dada's 155 at Brisbane. Ashwin/Jadeja: runs to play gives them more confidence to toss the ball. Apart from that nothing has changed

Poms had Swann, Panesar , Anderson and Finn - all very good bowlers. Plus their batting backed the bowlers very well Aussies only have Pattinson - rest all are on and off bowlers and the batting is really poor against spin.

Our team is batsman-centric. True. When opposition can break our batting line up our bowling will invariably follow suit.

Credit to England but in all fairness, I do feel that it was more due to our loss of confidence that we lost the series..I mean Panesar..20 something wkts???

Swann and Panesar would have run through our batting in Chennai and Hyderabad. We would have struggled to score 300-350 instead of the 500+ scores. Cook and Pietersen would have made sure England score 400-450+. We would have lost both matches. The Indian team is still equally poor, and while Australia have the equivalent of Anderson in Pattinson their spin bowling is abysmal.
