net bowlers are instructed often to bowl certain deliveries for batsman's practice.they are not supposed to try and show thier repertoire.The article says Sachin later asked him to pitch it up.so maybe he wasnt supposed to bowl bouncers or maybe he was just in awe of the man. Thinking it hit him or troubled him is far fetched imo

This is what is RIGHT about Mumbai cricket, which is the only place in India where quality is all that matters, not age. professional sports is not about treating a talented 21 year old as if it was his god-given right to play the sport, but it is about fielding the best team. I dont care if you are a 18 year old Alan Donald, if you are not going to be more effective in a match than a 30 year old Kapil Dev, then you lose! period. The way cricket fans are, its as if the sport is the 'jaagirs' of kids with talent but who've not proven themselves to be WORTHY of playing at this level. Good on mumbai cricket to promote a system based on performance, not on 'talunt'. That is really the template of every single powerhouse team in virtually all sport- performance over 'talunt and age'.

So, if Javed Khan and Shardul Thakur are best bowlers in Mumbai then it shows the plight of Mumbai in terms of fast bowling resources. Look at what is written above.

It is not about age at all, it is about selections based on merit versus , regionalism, class, caste, religion, quota, fast bowler with serious pace has to be picked up young, people who don't understand this don't know cricket .

Fast bowling is called fast bowling same as sprinters would u pick up a sprinter who runs 100 m in 9 sec or a mediocre one who runs 12 sec, pace is the quality that can rattle anyone, batsmen needs to mature, MCA, GCA, DDCA selections are very biased and talent most times don't get u in the team Mumbais Ranji bowling side is pathetic, Sandhu a fat short pudgy bowler who bowls 115 k, these trundlers Waigankar, Shradul are beyond mediocre, there are better bowlers in local leagues lol
