ganeshran Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 What is wrong with the close in fielders today. Dropped Cowan twice FFS
SLICKR392 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 Kohli is an utter insult to that slip position.
NareshK Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 This happened during England series too. Pujara, Sehwag, Kohli dropped easy catches. Disappointing to see they havent rectified it.
Crookbond Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 One area where we miss Laxman and Dravid, even though they weren't their best at the end - still seem to be better. But, we need to be patient with Kohli, Pujara et al. At 0:05 watch Dhoni shouting "Whattaa catch!" TY_DYTUiq2s
SLICKR392 Posted March 15, 2013 Posted March 15, 2013 ^ Lol..Dhoni! I thought it was the commies. 16TJDFerfQ0 This one came on to him quick. VbKXzBLH30Q
saneindian Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 BUMP Menace continues. 2 Drop catches by Dhawan and a dolly missed by Vijay. 1.1 Khan to Fulton, no run, Dhawan has dropped him. And it's not even his catch. Full outside off, at 121ks, Futon pokes at it, gets an edge, the ball is carrying to Rohit Sharma at second slip, but Dhawan dives across to ruin it for Rohit. Really surprised neither Vijay nor Rahane is there in the slips , would have been 1/1 28.4 Mohammed Shami to Williamson, no run, edged and not taken. Sitter by slip's standards. Almost knee high to Vijay at first slip. Nice length ball, seams away, takes the edge as KW defends, but Vijay doesn't hold on. Not sure if there was a very late movement as the ball approached him that put Vijay off Would have been 78/4, WIlliamson was on 32 61.1 Jadeja to McCullum, 2 runs, Dhawan has missed his second chance of the day. Definitely a life for McCullum. McCullum goes sweeping, gets a top edge, and Dhawan at short fine leg completely misjudges it, and comes in and is lobbed Would have been 233/4 Mccullum was on 103 In addition there were a couple of thick edges which fell short as the slips were too deep (due to Dhoni being too deep). Add the plumb LBW decision denied and two easy run out chances missed ..thats 5-6 chances missed in a day. Pathetic from a young team on the field. Signs of a team thoroughly lacking in confidence when actually after the catches by Rahane and Jadeja whole fielding side should have stepped up.
puneet28 Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 They don't bend on thier knees much. That's the main problem. Moreover Dhoni is just placing slip fielders on basis of their outfield capability. Pujara, Rahane should be 1st/2nd slip. This Dhoni's thinking, his wiered tactics have made me occasional viewer of game. Its high tine we have new test captain atleast.
Gollum Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Dropped catches is what cost us the Eng series, it will keep on haunting us. If you drop guys like Cook, Clarke etc so many times, they will score 300s against this useless attack.
adi B Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 vijay, dhawan and kohli are a disgrace to slip catching
coffee_rules Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 Vijay's was the most crucial miss. 78/4, looks much better than 251/4 from India's perspective. And KW is on a purple patch. Saala.
Rebel Agent Posted February 6, 2014 Posted February 6, 2014 The thing is those catches were easy, any of us could have taken those, India seems to be going from bad to worse.
