Muloghonto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 And I asked you to point out where I made the connection between Rape and Economics. When you post on a thread pertaining to rape as : " I (and several others) made this point in the other (rape related) thread as well that the problem is first and foremost economics and secondly, Law and Order situation as a whole.", in the post #42, you are directly linking economics to rape. Is that not evident to you by the basic rules of sentence construction in English ? The post where I did mention Economics was in reference to the Delhi woman rape. It was also general comment that any Rape amendment will be ineffective, as long as, the Law and Order Situation is in doldrums. What does that have to do with economics ? You cited economics as a first and foremost reason for rape, so show us the causal link. Kashmiri Pandits don't have any other options. While the tourists do. How hard is it to understand? What does having or not having options have to do with the statement ' when venturing into a lawless area, one assumes charge of personal safety.' ? Tell us where your statement is logically linked to options pertaining to citizenship ? Frankly, your comparison is absurd. If you can't see the difference between the two situations, then I can't explain it any further. There is nothing absurd in my comparison. If your statement is ' when venturing into a lawless area, one assumes charge of personal safety', then logically, it applies to the foreigner biking in maharastra, the bihari getting themselves killed or kidnapped by the ULFA, the KPs getting blown up by the jihadis, etc. All the examples satisfies the conditions *YOU* set: when venturing into a lawless area, one assumes charge of personal safety. So tell us, how does the case of kashmiri pandits or biharis in Assam fail to fit your statement as much as the foreign bikers in India.
suraj Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Corrected man you must have a really small dick :giggle::giggle::giggle: editing posts to score points- lage raho were you genuinely pleased at the gang-rape too because it helped you score some pts against goris' stupidity??
surajmal Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 When you post on a thread pertaining to rape as : " I (and several others) made this point in the other (rape related) thread as well that the problem is first and foremost economics and secondly, Law and Order situation as a whole.", in the post #42, you are directly linking economics to rape. That discussion had devolved in various threads. What does that have to do with economics ? You cited economics as a first and foremost reason for rape, so show us the causal link. Freed from jail, man rapes, murders 9-year-old girl http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-01-14/india/36331420_1_shirdi-in-ahmednagar-district-shirdi-temple-man-rapes There are various dimensions to that. I hope you can figure those out.
surajmal Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 man you must have a really small dick :giggle::giggle::giggle: You can't keep the back and forth in one thread and I've a small dick?
Muloghonto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 That discussion had devolved in various threads. As usual, vague, obtuse and back pedalling. Is economics a major cause in rape or not ? You asked for evidence to when you uttered it, i provided. Are you going to acknowledge that or not ? Freed from jail, man rapes, murders 9-year-old girl http://articles.timesofindia.indiatimes.com/2013-01-14/india/36331420_1_shirdi-in-ahmednagar-district-shirdi-temple-man-rapes There are various dimensions to that. I hope you can figure those out. Considering that what you are saying is complete nonsense, as no single sociologist or psychologist has associated rape with economic factors, i would like you to help us figure out what these pros couldnt and show us the causal link between rape and economics.

Sure. http://onebillionrising.org/blog/entry/introducing-the-obr-article-series-dr.-vandana-shiva-1 Now go pour yourself a drink.
Muloghonto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Acknowledge what? That you are taking my statement out of context. Sure. Context or not, you made a statement that categorically links rape with economics. So whatever your context and 'special case scenario' is, you are linking rape and economics. So show us evidence of such a stunning assessment. http://onebillionrising.org/blog/entry/introducing-the-obr-article-series-dr.-vandana-shiva-1 Now go pour yourself a drink. As expected. Another clueless desi in a field lacking any expertese ( taking desis as authorities in liberal arts and psychology is as innane as taking the university of Kabul as the benchmark for nuclear physics) is being toted as 'evidence'. Find me a single real scholar - read : western, who makes such an absurd claim. PS: Still waiting for your logical presentation which demonstrates the link between citizenship and 'taking responsibility for self security when venturing into lawless areas' .
surajmal Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 As expected. Another clueless desi in a field lacking any expertese ( taking desis as authorities in liberal arts and psychology is as innane as taking the university of Kabul as the benchmark for nuclear physics) is being toted as 'evidence'. Right, because it doesn't meet your narrative. Frankly, I didn't even read what it said. But since you disagree, I will hold it as gospel (even though I don't have much time for sociology or psychology) Find me a single real scholar - read : western, who makes such an absurd claim. Macaulite on top of a commie. PS: Still waiting for your logical presentation which demonstrates the link between citizenship and 'taking responsibility for self security when venturing into lawless areas'. Keep waiting. I can't teach you why 2+2=4. (Real Analysis and Number theory is a weak point.)
Muloghonto Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Right' date=' because it doesn't meet your narrative. [/quote'] No, it doesnt meet my minimum basic standards of competence. Being objective is better than a blind patriot. We desis utterly suck at any liberal arts, general studies, humanism and other branches. Like, we are on par with Africa on this. As i said, cite me Desi authority in engineering, science, medicine and literature, but quoting desi source on humanities is as absurd as quoting University of Afghanistan on nuclear physis. As usual, glib, obtuse and utterly lacking substance. I asked you to make a logical case, you cant. Perhaps you should live up to your namesake and be manly enough to concede when you are found out by logical analysis to be spweing utter bunk. Or be manly enough to make a case. Or maybe stop using such examples of masculinity as Surajmal as your handle, for you are clearly failing to live up to it.
someone Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Why do some of my fellow Indians have to bring skin color, religion into this discussion. They should only be seen as victims whom deserve public support on a whole. Therefore, as I wrote earlier, nothing wrong in saying that self-awareness and common sense could have prevented these crimes.
Crookbond Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Why do some of my fellow Indians have to bring skin color, religion into this discussion. They should only be seen as victims whom deserve public support on a whole. Therefore, as I wrote earlier, nothing wrong in saying that self-awareness and common sense could have prevented these crimes. Obviously there is nothing wrong with what you said but that is so blatantly an obvious statement that it is easily perceived as a defensive comment. That said, it is still an acceptable position but the assertion that the victims deserve "no sympathy" (indirectly implying that the victim deserves it) is a disgusting statement whichever way I look into it.
The Outsider Posted March 23, 2013 Posted March 23, 2013 Keep waiting. I can't teach you why 2+2=4. (Real Analysis and Number theory is a weak point.) Agree with that. :two_thumbs_up:
Vilander Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 American media are such a bunch of hypocrites. There was a lady killed by a pedophile and her 10 year old daughter raped' date=' on the same day as this rape, in albany. They completely ignored it, instead they went with the exotic story about india. If they really wanted to talk about women and their issues there would be compelling stories behind each of the assaults that take place once every few seconds in america, but they have to go with rape in the land of elephants and snakes by scary brown men who otherwise take their jobs. And i don't know what to say about self flagellating desis that fall for this cheap trick every time its pulled.[/quote'] +1
FischerTal Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 We just had the Steubenville case in America where the girl was blamed by sections of media for being drunk at a party for jocks. Rape is an international problem, not just confined to India. DOnt sensationalize such cases to give notion that Indian men are born rapists.

The Outsider Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Appropriate for the thread, I guess. Heard about the video on NPR today: eZxv5WCWivM
Crookbond Posted July 20, 2013 Posted July 20, 2013 6 accused awarded life imprisonment in Madhya Pradesh http://www.ndtv.com/article/india/swiss-woman-gang-rape-6-accused-awarded-life-imprisonment-in-madhya-pradesh-394785 Datiya: Six men accused of gang-raping a 39-year-old Swiss woman on March 16 this year in Datiya in Madhya Pradesh have been awarded life imprisonment by a court. While four of the accused were charged with gang-rape, two others were booked for robbing and assaulting the woman and her husband. The 100-page chargesheet, filed on March 26 this year, was presented to the court without conducting the test identification parade (TIP). The parade could not be conducted because the victim said she would not be able to recognise the accused since the assault took place at night. The Swiss national and her husband, who were on a bicycle tour across India, were camping near a forest on March 16 when a gang of armed men raped her and then assaulted and robbed the couple of their valuables. This is a turn around time of 4 months - quick conviction I must say.
