Sooda Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Rahane has not covered himself in glory this test but cant be jettisoned out the XI after one test. He has done more than Rayudu to merit a spot in the first XI. Vijay, Dhawan, Pujara, Kohli, Rahane, Rohit (Jadeja will play of course), MSD, Ashwin Yadav, BK, Zaheer, Shami Ahmed, Ojha, Saha, Gambhir, Rayudu/Jadeja/Rohit as chepujaradon has rightly highlighted, the A team to SA needs to be picked and that has to be a good one. Vijay, Dhawan, Rahane, Rohit, Rayudu, Tiwary, Saha, Pankaj, Shami Ahmed, Ishwar Pandey, Nadeem.. Rassool, Mukund, Uday Kaul, Sid Kaul, Ladda Important that limited overs players come in for the T20s/List A matches on that tour- Saxena, Jadhav, Uthappa, Wagh, Abu Nechim.. in for the likes of Vijay, Rohit, Rahane and Pankaj..
carnish Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Injuries, Form, Selectors Bias, Sachin's Retirement .... 8 months is just too long to make a guess for the team. Will wait till atleast October.
vijay50 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Looks like tailunt Nohit Sharma will make it in the first 11 and Jinka Rahane asusual will be carrying drinks.
vishalvirsingh Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 6 Fast Bowlers for Africa and 2 Spinners for Africa... I wud recommend 6 fast bowlers and only Ashwin as playing ashwin and Jaddu together is Nonsense in africa either for tests or ODI
vishalvirsingh Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Share your choice of fast bowlers n spinners for africa..... I wud pick Umesh Bhuvnesh Irfan Shammi Dinda he is not given a chance n to drop him with out trying is criminal Ishant Sharma- team has invested so much on him that he needs to deliver in africa Sidkaul pankaj wud miss the bus most likely... Sreesanth looked like a shadow of his past..not good enuf, ishwar also looked average.
rkt.india Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Dinda and Ishant should be nowhere near the team.
ShebbySB Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Can't drop Dinda without giving him a chance.Though my choices are Umesh,Bhuvi, Shami,Aaron,Mohit & Irfan.I won't pick Ishant,Dinda & Grandpa Zak.Ishwar is a trundler & Pankaj is out of favour.Like the looks of Sid Kaul though,he needs to deliver in the A tour.
vishalvirsingh Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 Dinda and Ishant should be nowhere near the team. I do agree that DINDA and ishant should be dropped but i do feel that dinda shud not be dropped as he has not got the chances and ishant - so much time n energy is invested on him , now is the time for him to deliver and he possibly has started delivering a little now. the Planning seems to be with him as he is beeing supported too much by Dhoni........see giving him 30 overs in an innings and only 9 to BHuvnesh

FischerTal Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 what is Mohit doing that u have preferred him.. he was the pick of the bowlers when all of India's highest wicket takers of Ranji 2013 were called to NCA to perform in front of the selectors and the coaches. According to rkt, he is a sure shot for the future with Duncan FLetcher.
rkt.india Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 what is Mohit doing that u have preferred him.. He was the fastest bowler in bowlers camp in NCA after Ranji trophy ended. According to sources, he impressed all. He had 37 wickets at 23 in 8 matches this season with not much support from other bowlers.
ShebbySB Posted March 26, 2013 Posted March 26, 2013 what is Mohit doing that u have preferred him.. 1)He has got pace. 2)Good repeatable action. 3)Among the highest wicket takers this season. 4)Moves the ball. 5)Strong well built guy. 6)Among the 5 bowlers Fletcher has shortlisted for test matches. Other 4 bowlers are Umesh,Shami,Bhuvi & Wagh.
