India's historic problem with mopping up tails

India's historic problem with mopping up tails

  1. 1.

    • Bowlers tend to relax against tail-enders
    • No genuinely quick bowlers to blow the tail away
    • Bowlers lack the kind of motivation that keeps them going against top order
      0
    • We never make plans for how to dismiss tail-enders
    • Tail-end batsmen these days possess good batting skills
    • It's a mystery!

there is no way that siddle would have made 2 50's with Yadav or even someone like awana ( for arguments sake) in the team...
Its not about pacers. Indian spinners who have got Aussie top order out cheaply should also have got Siddle or Starc out easily. Its more of a mindset thing than anything else. You could see Indian bowlers getting frustrated the more the tailenders stuck around and rotated the strike. They didnt bowl to them just like they bowl to top order batsmen. Of course, you have to give credit to Siddle, Starc etc. Low order batsmen are no mug with the bat these days.
