1983-2011 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Now everyone will forget about 4-0 whitewash in England and Australia and also 3-1 thrashing by England at home. We will be back to square after we get whitewashed 3-0 in South Africa and everyone will be calling for Fletcher and Dhoni's head.
trundlerNO1 Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 SA bowling>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>X1000 India bowling SA batting>>>>>>India, it not a HUGE difference as it is in bowling SA fielding >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>x100India I fully expect a whitewash

Crookbond Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 For people calling this home win a "regular win", when was the last time we defeated a team so comprehensively even at home? Not only did we in 4 Test matches but we won them quite easily in the end. I mean we have struggled to win against decent sides at home even when we were the No.1 Test team for 18 months or so. Credit where it's due.
saneindian Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 So for a series that is 8 months away, are you asking the fans not to celebrate the Aussie whitewash? Are you calling this 4-0 a worthless, useless series win?

Not just 4-0 but the manner of victories is impressive. That 2-0 you talked about had 1 Test match which could've gone either way. Forget 4 Test match series, we haven't even won 2-0 that often against weak teams like West Indies, New Zealand and Zimbabwe.

King Tendulkar Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 We will do ok in SA. We may not win series but wont get demoilished and be very competitive
Crookbond Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 The pitches played a major part.I have watched some real pattas in every series. We had two pattas in this series as well - Hyderabad and Mohali. Mind you, Australia has had the best batting conditions for most part of the series.

yoda Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 For SA, we need Yadav and Sree back. Bhuvi will do well there. Don't have much hopes for Varun Aaron or Shammi, Batting wise, other than Pujara and to a lesser extent Kohli, I don't expect anyone else to cross 50 on a consistent basis. So yea we will lose there and bad, but that doesn't take anything away from this 4-0.
Number Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Our middle order is brittle as ever. Need to sort that out. SRT should go now. If we manage to score runs, we will be competitive.
Crookbond Posted March 24, 2013 Posted March 24, 2013 Compared to those these are rank turners. No - these aren't. In any case, since Australia had the pleasure of batting first in all 4 Test matches they had the better batting conditions and hence that argument is neutralized.
