It's just that that we had a better team when Dravid was at his peak so his knocks contributed more to our wins. But can't seriously compare Dravid or Laxman with Sachin Obviously I haven't any of Gavaskar so can't really say whose performance is better overseas btw them. But from what I have seen in last 20 years Sachin is a level above every other player in india

So overall Dravid may have come across as helping in more wins for India in overseas matches, because of greater strength of Indian team, but Sachin is simply above him in overall performance and impact.

He has been one of the best player of fast bowling India ever produced and probably best player of hook shot. It is sad to see that some people on this forum think that a cement company owner has better judgement on cricket than Amarnath.

Nicely put. Some of Sachin's best innings were reduced to having the team saved from the follow on espeically in the 90's. You see the 169,111,116 the 122 in England etc. These were top class innings but could not contribute to the win as team was always in dire straits. Dravid's struggles in SA and against attacks better than the one's in 2003 Oz series in Oz are there. But yes he has had more winning innings than SRT.
NareshK Posted March 27, 2013 Posted March 27, 2013 Dravid is clearly the best batsman overseas. He scored many of his runs in tough conditions and in tough situations which also lead to team wins compared to other batsmen who made hay while the sun shined.

Cricketing ability and judgement on cricket are little related to each other that is why several unknown cricketers turn out to be batter coaches than some legends of cricket. Dont connect this with Amarnath. A general observation.
