Rohit S. Ambani Posted March 29, 2013 Posted March 29, 2013 3 female British activists of Pakistani origin raped in Libya The overland convoy left Britain on Feb. 25, but was stuck for days along the Libyan-Egyptian border after Egyptian border guards refused to let them to cross. Al-Barassi told Libya al-Hurra TV late Thursday that the women were in “very bad shape.†Two of the women are sisters and their father witnessed the rape of the women, he said. Their 10-vehicle convoy carrying medical supplies was named “Mavi Marmara†in honor of a ship involved in a 2010 deadly flotilla incident, according to Huseyin Oruc of IHH, a Turkish humanitarian relief organization. IHH was the group that helped organize the international flotilla that was attacked on May 31, 2010. Israeli commandos stormed the Mavi Marmara while stopping the flotilla that was trying to breach an Israeli blockade of Gaza. Eight Turks and a Turkish-American were killed, and dozens of activists and seven Israeli soldiers were wounded. IHH mediated the release of the kidnapped women and men after they were contacted by the convoy’s organizers and pled for help. The man and his daughters were scheduled to return to Britain on Friday, he said. SOURCE :omg: :(( Pankaj888 1

suraj Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Shame. There is history behind it; he is being sarcastic

Texy Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 I've never seen any Pakistani protest for Tibet, Sri Lanka, Darfur and yet their heart bleeds for Palestine. Also hypocritically no sign of protest when it comes to their ummah brothers in Uighur, China. Strange. Also I thought the Islamic head veil is suppose to act as a rape deterrent as argued by many Pakistanis worldwide. These girls were veiled and in complete Islamic attire. What happened?
FischerTal Posted March 30, 2013 Posted March 30, 2013 Rape is rape. The girl was never asking for it. Society needs to ask for more accountability from men. Alas, victim blaming will nonetheless commence. :wall:

Not needed here Tex. Why use this shameful incident to direct ire at some silly minds ? Besides, these were aid workers as per the link, good on them to volunteer for whatever community they attach themselves.

We should focus on our own problems. It is not like the west haven't got around it, so we can't as well.
