It also means as a batsman one needs to be cautious sometimes but he can also play shots because of the consistent pace and bounce. Good batsmen will score runs while mindless sloggers will struggle. Lush outfield is good for diving and fielding. Only drawback is short outfield. I would have liked to see the boundaries not brought in. Great job by the curator and would like to see similar tracks in IPL and ODIs in India. :hatsoff:

There was a little swing with the new ball and also bit of seam movement off the pitch because of the grass and nice bounce and carry. Good batsmen scored runs. Once more, excellent pitch. I'm sure Javagal Srinath had a hand in the preparation.
G_B_ Posted April 5, 2013 Posted April 5, 2013 As Naresh has said first 5 overs there was seam and swing. Johnson was bowling like a dream and so were Unadkat and even Christian. It then evened out as the match progressed and the good batsman could play their shots. Its a far cry from the flat wickets and 200 run scores this ground had last season.

You will see bigger boundaries on bigger grounds like Mohali, Hyderabad, Nagpur, Chennai. Kotla, Eden, Wankhede, Chinnaswamy are smaller grounds in India.
