Sooda Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Playes today and scores 50 at sr of over 100. Fit and should be picked Well then yes, should have been there instead of MV.
saneindian Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Pujara will go to SA tour with India A probably. That tour is towards the end of July. So this logic doesn't quite sound correct. Selectors should clearly spell out that they have fitness worries on Pujara and do not want to risk in shorter formats yet. Che did get into one injury concern after another during the Aus test series, especially with his knee which has been operated 2 times in last 3 years.

saneindian Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 To whom - you' date=' me or Pujara?[/quote'] To all the stakeholders of Indian cricket which includes you, me and Pujara himself :winky:
Sooda Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 On the bowling a four man pace attack of Irfan, Bhuvi, Ishant and Umesh looks like one with good variety- left and right arm swing, Ishants height short of good length pace and bounce and Umesh's fuller skiddier pace- hopefully theyre all in good rhythm. The first XI should be those four and RJ to bowl spin in middle overs

Crookbond Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 To all the stakeholders of Indian cricket which includes you' date=' me and Pujara himself :winky:[/quote'] Unfortunately, we are hardly a stake holder in team selection strategies. In this day and age, I doubt selection strategies will be opened up to the public. It's the same everywhere - therefore, you have the media to read between the lines.
Sooda Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 no Ashwin?:omg: Not in England, we should at least start with that attack, It could be pretty useful
Lord Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Not in England' date=' we should at least start with that attack, It could be pretty useful[/quote'] interesting.so you's prefer Jaddu to Ashwin. I'd take both tbh.and drop Ishant.Umesh-BK-Irfan-Ashwin-Jaddu would be my attack.the conditions wont favour spin but still we gotta go with our strength
I6MTW Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 interesting.so you's prefer Jaddu to Ashwin. I'd take both tbh.and drop Ishant.Umesh-BK-Irfan-Ashwin-Jaddu would be my attack.the conditions wont favour spin but still we gotta go with our strength If we bat second then 20 overs of spin would cost 100 runs. Then the remaining 3 overs with our trundlers would cost 160 and then including extras bowled often then we would be chasing 280 every time we bat second on a seaming/swinging wicket. So 1 spinner is enough, preferably Jadeja since he has bowled better then Ashwin in LOI's recently. Plus he is a better bat(not taking away the fact Ashwin can bat as well.).

He wouldn't take wickets regularly but he could contain runs. He has done well in IPL even on slow wickets that don't support pace. Yadav,Bhuvi,Vinay,Ishant would be our pace attack. And still I'm not convinced about out bowling.

Lord Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Jaddu over Ashwin? Ashwin is the better bowler and better batsman as well. Jaddu is better bat in ODIs.plus better fielder too
cowboysfan Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Jaddu is better bat in ODIs.plus better fielder too not sure if serious, jadeja cannot play fast bowling let alone if the ball swings like it will do in England.I also dont think Ashwin will be very effective in England either,we should go with Irfan and 4 fast bowlers .

vvvslaxman Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm only comparing with Ashwin, not some greeat batsman.see thier ODI records.Jaddu is much better. 5 fast bowlers would be stupid imo India will be up against SA/Pakistan/Windies.. Against Windies and SA india has to rely on spin. I don't think we have fast bowlers that do magic even in helpful conditions. May be just Bhuvan. Rest of the guys are not good enough to exploit even helpful surface. Also we cannot assume it will be bowler friendly there. In a world event generally it will be more batsmen friendly.
Crookbond Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I'm only comparing with Ashwin, not some greeat batsman.see thier ODI records.Jaddu is much better. 5 fast bowlers would be stupid imo Do you realize rules have changed in ODI's since October?
