velu Posted May 6, 2013 Author Posted May 6, 2013 I don't know about the other lead' date=' but you seem to have a bit of some ego. Change your attitude and the group. Focus on the job in hand leaving out some of the judgmental stuff out of professional life. You will do good. Prakat Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 If it's happened before then your manager is not doing his job. Your manager should first encourage you to talk to your colleague about this over a drink failing which or if you are reluctant get both of you in together and sort things out. Especially because you are both customer facing and the company can't have bickering colleagues handling a client. Not just for the sake of appearances but in an future scenario the client can use the rift between the two of you to gain leverage over your company (non-fulfillment of contract, penalty on payments, charges for losses incurred due to incompetence. Etc. ) Your manager is messing up.
Yoda-esque Posted May 6, 2013 Posted May 6, 2013 Focus on work. Politics is reality anywhere you go, only the extent varies. Arthashatra. It best self help guide in these situations. I was advised keep your emotions away from work place. NEVER react, always try and respond. Never attack somebody personally, even if somebody does it you, long term it will serve you well. People are essentially trying to provoke each other. That is really only excitement generally at work place. Be aware and on guard for that. Having nothing to lose approach is ideal scenario. But I can see why it is difficult for people. But it relaxes you. Couldn't have put it better.
velu Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 That's probably the bigger problem if you ask me. Most of us deal with office politics but what's helped me has been shutting it out when I'm out of office after 12 hrs and having most weekends off. Dealing with it day in & day out without any leave will give multiple problems including your health. you come to korea.. MCBC kohli style :(( If it's happened before then your manager is not doing his job.
