maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 This NRR rule makes no sense....along with duckworth Lewis,it is the stupidest rule in Cricket  Suggestions would be- Introduce Bonus point System. Introduce a standard to measure the quality of cricket that is played' Or which team has taken more wickets. So many other better ways than this stupid system
bulbul Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Prepare batting pitches Get good batsmen in team. Do not open with PaPu
maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 I know lot of team fans are happy that they will sneak in on NRR but a real teams does it by performing on field-not on a calculator
vvvslaxman Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 :hysterical::hysterical::hysterical: We should have a seperate thread "Maniac's excuses"
maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 I really like the bonus Point rule....Isn't it unfair if a team that plays superior quality cricket on tough pitches goes through than teams that play on flat tracks, put the opposittion under pressure and increase RR.....I am sorry that's not the cricket I like to watch
maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 someone please explain duckworth lewis method It's stupd just like this Rule above.....Some Nerd with a calculator decides which team plays in the K.O's not worth knowing Imho
PBN Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 now that teams have an away and home game against each other. for a 2 way tie, head to head record in the season can be used. if still tied then NRR is fine. don't like the bonus system personally

CSK Fan Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I really like the bonus Point rule....Isn't it unfair if a team that plays superior quality cricket on tough pitches goes through than teams that play on flat tracks' date='put the opposittion under pressure and increase RR.....I am sorry that's not the cricket I like to watch[/quote'] But woulnt the team get a bonus point in second scenario too? For eg, Mumbai would have got bonus points against CSK and KKR
maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 But woulnt the team get a bonus point in second scenario too? For eg' date=' Mumbai would have got bonus points against CSK and KKR[/quote'] Haven't done much analysis on that yet...thought any rule will be better than NRR....Personally I like the quality of Cricketing standards rule :--D
vvvslaxman Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 Haven't done much analysis on that yet...thought any rule will be better than NRR....Personally I like the quality of Cricketing standards rule :--D I think team that has first letter that has higher number should get qualified. Say for instance RCB vs SRH ... S number is 20 R number is 19... So SRH should get qualified when there is a tie.

maniac Posted May 7, 2013 Author Posted May 7, 2013 We don't want some Nerd to dictate our destiny...We either win or Lose like real Soldiers.....Let all the other Wimpy teams battle it out based on NRR.
Crookbond Posted May 7, 2013 Posted May 7, 2013 I think both teams should be made to sit down after the game and throw 2 dice. The team which comes up with the sum of the squares on the face of dice greater than 16 should be given an extra point.
