Some media sources say he has confessed and some say he hasnt. This is why I said earlier you shouldnt trust any media outlets for a while. They will just say anything that comes to their mind and give whatever information that comes from anonymous sources just for viewership.

Also people say sreeshanth has confessed but there hasn't been a single concrete statement about his confession....if sreeshanth is innocent, then that guy can make a lot of money suing people for defamation He seems to be the only guy whose direct conversations with bookies has not been recorded

I totally agree with your thinking process on this matter :agree: You should look at everything and everyone suspiciously at this point.
Sanga for his slow run rate and Mahela for giving away his wickets cheaply every single time and obviously Mathoos as well. :hmmm:

This goes on in ever sports at all levels, only last yr John Higgins the snooker player was caught in a newspaper sting and he now plays at the top level and no one mentions it! Sreesanth i can understand why he might want to earn a quick buck, he is no longer going to make it at the top level and is barely holding down an IPL place, though i think his attitude lets him down and effects peoples perceptions of him, he is not as bad a bowler. However the only people they have let down is themselves, the media and country should not go ott and it let it quickly die down, it reflects bad on India and IPL, the Western newspapers are already having a field day with their India bashing due to the rapes. Bookies wanted to tape players with women http://timesofindia.indiatimes.com/sports/cricket/spot-fixing-hits-ipl-6/news/Honey-trap-Bookies-wanted-to-tape-players-in-the-act/articleshow/20114115.cms

NEW DELHI: The spot-fixing expose could have turned much more embarrassing for the three tainted cricketers. If sources are to be believed, bookies had planned to videotape the players' 'act' while they were with 'escorts' provided to them. The videos could be used to blackmail the players if they went hostile. Interrogation of the arrested bookies and players has also revealed that two bookies, Chandresh Patel alias Chand and Manan, had allegedly arranged for women for Sreesanth and Ajit Chandila five to six times earlier this year. The cops are in the process of scanning the hard disks of the 5 laptops recovered from the arrested bookies to see if any such tapes were indeed made, source added. The laptops will be sent for forensic labs as well where experts would make a mirror image of the hard disk for future investigation. Sources said, during the initial investigations, cops overheard conversations in which bookies were being told to see if they can install cameras in the rooms where cricketers were likely to be entertained by women provided by the bookies. These exchanges took place between a Dubai phone number and numbers in Delhi and Mumbai. Officers said they are yet to find evidence of any such videotape having been made. The source said that the plan was to be executed at the house parties, one of which was held in Gurgaon as well. However, there was no clarity on if the women were a part of the trap meant for the players or they were also not to be told about it. "Although we never investigated this part of the racket as it is a secondary task and our focus was to nab the players and bookies first, but it appears that the bookies did not want the girls to know about the videotape plan. We do not have enough details as to why the bookies would not let the girls in on the plan," the source said. Asked why the bookies needed to blackmail the players when they were very much hand in glove with them, the source said that unpleasant situations are likely arise in the business -- like the one where Chandila declined to return Rs 20 lakh which he had taken to fix the over although he had forgotten to give the signal. Chandila and the bookie had a heated argument over money during which the bookie had flaunted his Dubai connection, after which Chandila calmed down, the source added. A Delhi police officer, in a lighter mood, said the IPL website "www.IPLT20" probably meant "Women, Wealth and Wine T20 tournament". Delhi Police officers have confirmed that the practice of supplying escorts by IPL players was rampant and some bookies even themselves arranged the escorts for the players. Delhi Police Commissioner Neeraj Kumar said on Friday that women were present with cricketer S Sreeshant and his friend Jiju when they were arrested. "Very much. Girls were present with Sreesanth and Jiju. We also have information about others (players)," he said. Asked whether honey trap was used in cricket, he said it was an open secret and is part of all big sports. Lawyers of the accused denied the allegations.

Delhi police case seems to be weak against sreesanth,They do not have his phone recordingsor bbm messenger interactions of sreesanth.Sreesanth did not concede 14 runs as he was to,Sreesanth has use white towel many times while bowling even headband and otherstuff. His name also is not mentioned in the recordings but his friendship with jiju makes his suspect.Unless they prove the moneytrail its a weak case.I really hope delhi police did not frame him for getting a big name in the case.

Some of the media articles are getting more cautious now. FirstPost artticle

But ever since then, and particularly over the past two days, the conduct of the investigation gives reason to wonder if that heightened sense of professionalism is already on a slippery slope. Whereas the focus of the investigation ought to have been on putting together a cast-iron case that will stand up in a court of law, the Delhi Police appears to be conducting a “showcase” trial in the public domain. The selective leaks by “sources” about the “confessional statements” made by the three arrested players – and the sly name-dropping to implicate others who are on their radar – do not quite measure up to the same standards of professionalism that the Delhi Police themselves exhibited earlier.
Even I thought that the Delhi Police commissioner was going overboard by giving a clean chit to all the other players and teams when the investigations had just started.
