As I used an analogy before, arresting such a powerful man for betting is like arresting amitabh Bacchan for a parking ticket Common sense tells me these things 1) Why would an owner bet on his own team when he had so many other teams to chose from? answer, he had inside information and he used it to his advantage 2) Why was he in contact with so many bookies? 3) Why was he in touch with bookies before/during matches? He is not just arrested for betting. Fixing suspicions are there but they have not found such evidence yet. Betting is illegal and 5-yewar jail term can be handed, so it in itself is big enough to arrest him big or not that does not matter when such a scam comes out.

Arresting a high profile league franchise "honorary member (:giggle: )" . If players were forced to involve in fixing.. all those who were involved should be handed life ban.

As per the former IPS Officer who stated in an new channel saying "Although you can arrest a person on betting, but it is very difficult to convict him. Cos as per Indian law, betting is illegal wen the money dat u bet is a game of chance." His example was, if u bet on 'Teen Patti' den its illegal but if u bet on 'Rummy' you cant be convicted unless u can prove different... Src: IBN (9pm show with Rajdeep three or four days back) Now d question dat beckons, is cricket a game of chance?? :hmmm:

Baba, BCCI rules do not apply on someone who is not connected with BCCI. Let's assume Meiappan is unconnected with CSK. But then the question arises who allowed him free access to owner only areas. Someone is guilty here and it is the CSK owner who hasn't protected his privilege. If tomorrow an ICF Admin gives his password to a random poster and that guy abuses the Admin access by deleting posts, banning posters he dislikes etc. Who is breaking ICF rules, the poster or the Admin?

Because he is SIL of the owner. I dont think their argument will work.

He was the Team Principal of an IPL team so he was connected to the BCCI. It isn't just that - he represented the owner's side at the auctions, was introduced as the owner by Rajiv Shukla in his press conference, many times when Srini was asked questions regarding CSK he asked journalists to go to the "owner" i.e. Gurunath
