FischerTal
That's a selection issue more than anything else IMO. Selectors have been picking ODI players for many years like Yuvraj, Raina for a specialist test batsman slot even though they clearly havent shown the technique and temperament required. If they had selected batsmen who have done well in middle order for their Ranji sides, then we would have seen better results. as of now, who do you believe can do the job? Link to comment
zumi
IPL :salute: it will only get stronger after this, especially as srini will be gone pretty soon. Link to comment
kubrickian
as of now' date=' who do you believe can do the job?[/quote'] Ambati Rayudu, Rohit Sharma, Kedhar Jadhav, Dinesh Kartik, Manoj Tiwary, Robin Bist just to name a few. Link to comment
G_B_
its not an either/or argument for me. if you wanna have IPL' date=' keep it. however, there has to be a concentrated effort at developing quality test players. does it not concern you that we still havent found a credible replacement for ganguly after 5 years?[/quote'] well they are reforming it http://www.espncricinfo.com/india/content/story/553240.html next season all matches to be played at neutral venues to reduce home advantage thus leading to better pitches Link to comment
Marut
I dont watch much IPL but I dont want it to go just because of the scams. In that case we have to ban all sports at all levels. Ever since Ben Johnson was caught during Seoul 86, no body has ever believed fully in sporting achievements and there is always the lingering suspicion, but people still watch sport. IPL is generating money that can be used to promote cricket at lower levels. But I doubt the BCCI actually wants to invest there - they cant produce one really world class bowler with all those funds. Link to comment
someone
There seems to be some personal bashing ongoing in this thread. Not needed, but anyways, the question here really should be about the support. The benefits or feasibility analysis really is irrelevant in this case. As an Indian, I need and want IPL to be continuous successful and will thus support it. It's the same thing for our country, India which we all want it to be great. There are faults but with right methods, it will change and improve. Link to comment
Debutant
IPL should be increased to 6 months with 6 foreign players in playing 11. Link to comment
zumi
IPL should be increased to 6 months with 6 foreign players in playing 11. +1 for 6 months -1 for 6 foreigners in the 11, 4 is ideal. they should be encouraged to have more players from the locality. Link to comment

Cricashfaq
IPL is a gud platform to find young Indian talents. In IPL 2013, did we not see many good talents like Mohit Sharma, Manan Vohra, Mandeep Singh and many more. The problem of it is that the security is not strict enough. Thats why, we are falling down. NEVERTHELESS, MY SUPPORT FOR IPL WILL ALWAYS BE THERE!!!B-> Link to comment
