I think the main difference is openers, Dhawan is batting like Bradman and Rohit is also doin well ( I never thought i will ever say this for him:) ) They are followed up by Kohli / DK / Dhoni / Jadeja who are all in good form.... Our Middle order looks menacing after a good start, not sure how good they will be after lets say 30/2.......... However i still feel we need to something about our bowling in general and death bowling in particular.....

1.The odi bowling stocks are lowest in decades. 2.Players with no baggage of failures. 3.Flat Pitches and no swing. 4.Decent Captaincy.But it was criminal to take jadeja off in middle overs. All in all we have to keep in mind sa missed 4 regular players and wi is not a great odi side.

They are the same as the one everyone else played. Just that our batsmen showed more intent and came off. Sure couple of collapses in the warm ups. But middle order stepped up.

Kallis - averages 35 with the bat in the last 2.5 years (since beginning of 2011) at a SR of 77. Has played just 14 ODIs. For the record, in the same period, Sehwag averages 39 at SR of 114 from 23 matches. Tendulkar averages nearly 40 at SR of over 85 during the same period and has played more matches than Kallis. Also please note that SA has played about 40 games in the same period, so Kallis has been part of about 30-35% of that only. Steyn - With all due respect to him, never been an ODI great. He is undoubtedly the greatest bowler (in tests) atm, but ODIs have never been his forte really. Averages very close to 30 with the ball. And since beginning of 2012 (i.e last 1.5 yrs) he averages 39 with the ball in 14 ODIs. I give you Morkel though.

What I can think of is we are playing like a team instead of depending on individuals. This team looks more like the match-winning combinations that AUS and SL used to put out. That said, all teams in this tourney look pretty cr@p so far except England. So, a match against England would tell us how good we are.

Smith and kallis are way past their sell by dates in ODI..... Steyn is better than other SA bowlers but do not confuse Steyn the bowler in Tests and ODI's, more so against India..... Overall i think India still stood a very good chance of Beating SA with these three players..... P.S. i hope i have not jinxed my team for upcoming matches

1. Smith averages 31 in 44 ODIs in the last 3.5 years (2010 onwards). If 31 is a good enough average, then I have nothing more to say. 2. You don't get it, do you? The point is Kallis has played hardly 35% of the total matches SA has played in the last 2-3 years. It means SA aren't dependent on Kallis really. 3. Well, since 2012, Steyn ranks 5th in terms of wickets. He has the worst avg among all SA bowlers who have taken atleast 10 wickets.
