Prakat Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Dhawan looks the real deal and in it for the long haul. But really, two centuries in a row is all it takes for the blind hero-worshipping to start from the fans always on the lookout for the next savior. Needing one supreme being to take care of everything is such a childish impulse and it's amazing how it persists in so many Indian cricket fan. If he fails there are other capable hands to cover for him. That's the great thing about having teammates! Have people forgotten what Kohli is capable of or what Rohit can deliver or even what Raina, Dhoni and Jadeja can do? Dhawan is enjoying the big stage and shows he is ready for a spot on the team. Pretty much how all good batsmen announce their arrival on the international scene. We are fortunate to have one more promising talent come good so soon.
FischerTal Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Dhawan defence is worry. he's a naturally attacking player, which works for him in ODI format. i dunno how he will do in South Africa with that mindset.
Iconoclast Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Ball hasn't been swinging much so Junaid has not been a major factor. I'd drop him for Asad Ali.
saneindian Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Would much rather want to see Kohli, Dhoni and Raina score some runs before the semis. Early fireworks from Dhawan and Rohit would be good too.
King Tendulkar Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 law of averages means sadly he is due a failure but not to worry. today is kohlis day
trundlerNO1 Posted June 15, 2013 Author Posted June 15, 2013 ohh he is out, nevertheless class knock again
special K Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Dhawan will score ducks when he tours England next year.

FischerTal Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 tbh he is weak against short ball bowled at body and his high backlift will be under scrutiny in SA. nonetheless brilliant player
cowboysfan Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 tbh he is weak against short ball bowled at body and his high backlift will be under scrutiny in SA. nonetheless brilliant player not sure i agree,he can just duck or leave them in tests or play a defensive shot.
CSK Fan Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 tbh he is weak against short ball bowled at body and his high backlift will be under scrutiny in SA. nonetheless brilliant player Weak would be if he was getting out or taking hits to balls at his body. He is avoiding them, so should be ok
CSK Fan Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Dhawan defence is worry. he's a naturally attacking player' date=' which works for him in ODI format. i dunno how he will do in South Africa with that mindset.[/quote'] His defense seems pretty good to me. He was hardly playing and missing on defense
Old guy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Weak would be if he was getting out or taking hits to balls at his body. He is avoiding them' date=' so should be ok[/quote'] Always thought dhawan was good player of short bowling.. He is deliberately leaving the ball cos its risky shot but its def not an issue..
Old guy Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 His defense seems pretty good to me. He was hardly playing and missing on defense Again agree his games looks great with no swing.. Defence will be tested against swing bowling..will he still go hard at ball? That can be risky..
Utalk Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 I really want Junaid Khan brought to his real place' date=' really hated him in 2012 every time he showed his ugly face celebrating Indian wicket[/quote'] That's pathetic attitude following a sport. Junaid bowled beautifully in Ind and deserved to celebrate like Kohli had every right to do his MC BC in Asia cup. It's only a sport and good cricket should be appreciated by any player.
FischerTal Posted June 15, 2013 Posted June 15, 2013 Weak would be if he was getting out or taking hits to balls at his body. He is avoiding them' date=' so should be ok[/quote'] im not saying he looks completely clueless or anything, but you have to agree that he always looks like he is in a rush. misjudging deliveries can happen with that mindset
