tweaker Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 all the 30+ players r gone. Now we have a very good fielding side
rkt.india Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 people talk about our fielders inside the ring' date=' but anybody notice just how good Dhawan is at the boundary? Strong arm for a fast throw as well.[/quote'] and Jaddu as well rocket arm.
rkt.india Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Ashwin and Ishant are weak links. Yadav and BK are just decent. Yadav can become better fielder if he works on it as he is a natural athlete.

Bhuvan does the job methinks. Cannot expect him to dive around i suppose. But he is a very decent fielder.
rkt.india Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Bhuvan does the job methinks. Cannot expect him to dive around i suppose. But he is a very decent fielder. Yeah. He gives his 100%. He is a guy with lot of spirits. This is the kind of stuff is what needed from our bowlers too. Likes of James, Anderson, Brett Lee have been that good for their team. Watch it from 8:40, the run out [ame]www.youtube.com/watch?v=vpiCWYvu3QE[/ame]
hhunaeh Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Well done dhoni for sticking it to naseer. Dhoni does these kind of things on purpose. He made it a point to come on tv and correct laxman after the 1st test against australia.
Sean Bradley Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 We are certainly the best "Indian" fielding side, but guess where it all began? Right here at champions trophy in 2000, any guesses anyone?
Straight Drive Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 Certainly not the top fielding side. Dhoni is not the best of wicket keepers around. As far as ODI's are concerned , Sanga and Ramdin are better keepers than Dhoni. We saw how our slip fielding is in recent times. At least South Africa, New Zealand and Australia have a better slip cordon than us. Clearly two of important fielding positions are our weakness as compared to few other teams. IMO South Africa and New Zealand are better fielding teams . Having said that our fielding has improved leaps and bounds due to youngsters who throw them on the ground. We are probably 3rd. Might be the first once we have one of the best wicket keepers and a reliable slip cordon.

Dhoni is definitely right up there with Ramdin/Sanga in terms of keeping. How abt the groundfielding? India stopped atleast 20 runs yesterday, without accounting for the run outs.

I am not counting or tracking who was dropped and how many. All i will say is that he is definitely not better than Ramdin or Sanga. It is okay though if you feel he is better than those two. Ashwin cannot even dive to take diving slip catches which other slip fielders. There is hardly anything left to say about Ashwin's and Ishant's fielding.

SA has got Tsotsobe, SL's Dilshan dropped 3 catches in the last match alone. If you are nitpicking other teams in the same manner as you nitpick India's you'll find a lot of issues with their fielding as well.
G_B_ Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 I have big issues about AB behind the stumps in the ODIs. Dont think he is comfortable at all.
saneindian Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 SA have Tsotsobe who is probably worse than Ashwin or Ishant. Kiwis have that left arm pacer who is a very slow mover. Overall, I believe Kiwis are the best fielding side in the world, outstanding catches and run outs quite regularly.

Considering that as well I feel South Africa and New Zealand are better fielding outfits than us at present. We are in the top 3, but not at the top. Or maybe the lack of a good slip fielder is clouding my opinion a bit.
superstar Posted June 16, 2013 Author Posted June 16, 2013 Joker Hussain at it again. Projecting England as better than India :giggle::giggle: I hope they lose today.
special K Posted June 16, 2013 Posted June 16, 2013 England is a much better fielding side then India.
Sidhoni Posted June 17, 2013 Posted June 17, 2013 Dhoni trolled Ramiz at the toss and then Nasser at the presentation :cantstop: But he was factually right on both occasions too.
