What BS ? they are officially aligned with the BJP' date=' they have in the past made input into BJP policies. Those are facts.[/quote'] Proof? Smritis are context sensitive and thus are allowed to be changed over time. Do you know Manu Smiriti was, for the first time, enforced by the British? No one is asking you to. Those same "half naked half wit" persons will advise to you experience, what they have experienced, for your self. It is called embodied knowing. There is no "word of god".

Proof?
We've had VHP members sit on BJP internal committees. That is direct influence.

There is. Its called the Gita. What you are calling embodied knowing is psuedo-Buddhism that Hinduism borrowed from Buddhists. Hindu scriptures maintain that the vedas were revealed by the Gods. The Vedas itself maintain that they were divinely revealed. The Gita is the direct word of God (Vishnu) through his avatar. There is plenty of 'Gold told us so' nonsense going around in the fundamental core of Hinduism. Granted, it is not all organized in a specific heirarchy like Christianity or boiled down to two sources (Koran and the Hadiths, the latter of which there are many versions) and one of the saving graces of Hinduism is the lack of organized heirarchy to its scriptures, i will readily grant. But it is still, when it comes right down to it, 'God told us so' type of BS. 'Karmanne wa dhi kaareste, maa phaleshu kadachana' is a 'directly revealed' bit of wisdom from God, for example.

Gita is a smriti (same as ramayana and other puranas) even though sometimes it is characterized as a shruti. Vedas and supplemantary commentaries are the only shruti. And I don't care whether embodied knowing is pseudo Buddhism. As for the "god told us" types: Reforming (IMO total abolition) Bhakti tradition is going to take time. Which can be done because there is plenty of room for debate in Hinduism (unlike the desert types). But bhakti was essential in medieval era otherwise India would be an Islamic state.

Totally agree. The future for Hinduism, in my mind, would be akin to the development cycle seen in Buddhism in certain Asian states like Taiwan,Korea or Japan: where it has little or no relevance to the laws of society but is everyone's favourite passtime/bed-time stories. Although techically speaking, Bhakti movement arose in southern India to irradicate Buddhism & Jainism. It spread to north India during early medeival times where it proved relevant to checking the spread of Islam. But it should be kept in mind that Bhakti movement was designed to destroy Jainism & Buddhism, at which, it succeeded. South India is the only recorded instance of generational discrimination & violence against Buddhists & Jains, not just a mad hindu zealot king here and there like in the north. We blame the Islamists for the loss of Buddhism & Jainism from Indian subcontinent- which is largely true. But we ignore the fact that it was Bhakti movement that lead to serial persecution, killings and discrimination of Buddhists & Jains in the south, which was irradicated by Tamil zealots, not muslims.

The Congress has said that Mr Gandhi is present "as a citizen" and is not using state resources to travel to different parts of Uttarakhand.
Wow! He was allowed to land in ITBP camp because he is a citizen.

Well, even I have to say "Wow". It's very shocking and this needs to get debated fully. How one Gandhi member is getting everything just because he is Gandhi.

Is he a central minister, a minister, or a state chief minister who is responsible for their state citizens life? yet if Modi goes' date=' he is politicizing a tragedy [/quote'] To think about it, both Modi and Rahul Gandhi are actually very similar as both simply get judged by their names. Rahul Gandhi is from the most important and powerful Indian family ever, thus gets all the "love", "affection" and wishes fulfilled. He can just about do anything because he is very much the king/prince of the country. Thus, he is the most protected "asset" of our country where if he says anything, it will be praises as Baby Gandhi has opened his month and any criticism will be ignored and not mentioned at all (like how he was greeted with Murdabad chanting). Whereas Modi just because he Modi must have be some kind of "communal" reasons. Like if he is given a black egg and doesn't want it, it must be because he hates "black".

I'm assuming that since you (mulo) haven't posted any names' date=' you couldn't find any?[/quote'] Just to be sure- you want me to find names of BJP committee members who are also officially affiliated with VHP, correct ? Sorry, i got sidetracked, i will look into it.

Among the prominent ones was Vijayaraje Scindia. RSS/BJP and RSS/VHP would have several in common since cross membership is allowed between them.

Yes, i am aware of that. The connections will be in the nature of BJP member---> RSS member---> former/current affiliate with VHP.
