Sachinism Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Is there any way of getting stats to show runs scored at different ages? I know it varies from batsmen to batsmen and form can come at different times. I was led to believe its 27-32, something that has stuck in my head as fact, but something I never have bothered checking out.
Prakat Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I've heard the same. 27 to 34 is the golden period. Pick a sample of 10 top run-getters over the age of 34. Runs scored per year of career sequenced according to age at the time.

Same here - interesting question but I think largely it will be true due to pure intuition.
Sachinism Posted June 28, 2013 Author Posted June 28, 2013 Cricinfo have all the players D.O.B. on record. It might be possible for them to pull these stats. I'll send Rajesh a tweet

India-KXIP fan Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 I think it was 29. Not sure if reliable but here's something on it http://reliancemobileiccrankings.blogspot.com.au/2008/10/at-what-age-do-most-test-cricketers.html Says average age for peak was 29 years 9 months...
vvvslaxman Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 30 is a rough age for peaking. It is unproven. But accepted by most of cricketer themselves.
vvvslaxman Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Dream run started for some of the players around 30 Mo Yusuf 31/32 - 1788 runs in a calendar year Clarke 31/32 - 1595 runs in a calendar year Punter 29/30 - 1503 runs in a calendar year Punter 30/31 - 1544 runs in a calendar year Punter 31/32 - 1333 runs in a claendar year Viru 29/30 1462 runs in a calendar year Viru 31/32 1422 runs in a calendar year Dravid 29/30 1357 runs in a calendar year One that sticks in my memory is Vengsarkar.. around 30/31 he scored 1667 runs in the space of 16 tests became world no.1 batsman .
Rocky Balboa Posted June 28, 2013 Posted June 28, 2013 Sachin played his best cricket during 2003 wc. I remember him celebrating his 30th birthday just after the wc.
