If anyone noticed, it never said that the man stabbed her. She sees a man, recognizes him, is about to scream his name when, "a kitchen knife plunged into her heart". It never says that the man did it. The man could have a companion. My doubts are definitely with the neighbor woman where the father, the ex and the boss are simple distractions for the readers.

in that case more than one is responsible for her death .. two teamed up and tried to plant the evidence against the 3rd suspect ?? :hmmm:

The 5th Avenue, I understand, is a very expensive and posh area. How come Martha, who had to steal 31 dollars from her old job and has been jobless for quite sometime, has an apartment in such a place with paper-thin walls where door sounds and shower sounds can be heard from the next apartment?

it might even be her ex bf and the neighbour woman that 31 stabs are only for distracting the police

so when the author will solve the mystery ?? :hmmm: author can pick anyone out of the boss , father or her ex.. 1) since she stole 31 dollars and father hating her for the way she live .. her father might be knowing that she stole 31 dollars .. so her father might have killed her by stabbing her 31 times exactly so that the suspsion will fall on her ex boss

Its might be her dad. :dontknow: Probably stabbed her 31 times (as he is the only one knew about it) to trap her boss.

Pretty sure OP is planning the murder himself and wants to know whether he will get caught. Don't do it. JAF' date=' Martha is not worth it[/quote'] :--D

Her father killed her. Reason: her new job was as a escort/prostitute. The neighbor lady heard the shower all night which means Martha woke up sometime in the evening to get ready for her new job, i.e. she was a lady of the night.

Theres really no hard data to prove that the father did it. Besides you are relying on the information provided by the neighbor. I think this story is a figment of JAF's imagination.

Her father disapproved of her lifestyle (she thinks of him as her enemy, which is strange itself), and her becoming an escort could have driven him to kill her. Of course, this is a reasonable guess and not conclusive.
