jalebi_bhai Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 See and then please tell me how in the world do you trust someone with leading a team overseas jahan tumhi tum ho - out there its 11 vs. the entire country right and the media :) - thats a great @ss way of putting your team members at absolute ease - now tell me if am mistaken but isn't that easily the biggest priority of a leader/skipper/captain?? and yes bhajji and sehwag have gone off the boil but hey its the age and m sure they do not harbour any serious intentions of making a comeback but dost - u r the skipper u r supposed to pick your side - not dibbly dobblers bits and pieces who win you 50 over a side cricket. try turning up for the real deal 5 day cricket for once - no hiding behind itnehi overs the so what we lost it was the 'run-rate' factor - will play only 5 balls of mckay ha. here it comes down 'tu khada hosaktaay wahan' pattinson will get 18-20 overs a day and count ur stars u didnt get to face ambrose mcgrath and akram. and u have the nerve to imply that 'old legs' are ruining my fielding?? Hmmmmm.......are you accusing him of disrespecting the old guard and of scapegoating them??......bhai......savdhan raho.......log thoot padenge tum pe.......:giggle:......anyways, thread has been successfully derailed......B->.......
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 An honest question' date=' Has Dhoni finally got a century outside Asia in any format? I don't recall.[/quote'] Does not matter. Dhoni was our highest run getter in ODI series in England in 2011.
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Raghav, when it comes to Dhoni I feel he is beyond some of these numbers. He's a beast when it comes to finshing and even I agree to this fact. What I am contesting with the experts here is there wierd logic. I have learnt today that opening is child's play, something that any tom dick and harry can do. We are never gonna miss the likes of Sachin/Viru! I am waiting to learn more. You are right but think this way. You have more successful opening batsmen in world cricket but not many successful batsmen at 6 or 7 with a record like Dhoni has. Though I will still say once you have SRT, anyone can only fight for second spot.
Old guy Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Does not matter. Dhoni was our highest run getter in ODI series in England in 2011. And best batsman in last cb series Even last time he did well..
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 And best batsman in last cb series Even last time he did well.. He played some short but crucial innings in 2008 CB series as well which lead us to win.
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 As I mentioned earlier' date=' let Dhoni score 100 runs in a single innings outside Asia then we can talk.[/quote'] So then 100 is the only thing that matters for you?
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 ek hi hain dost............there are no '2' 'Milans'...............ek hi 'AC'......:) :good:
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Does not matter. Dhoni was our highest run getter in ODI series in England in 2011. thats just one series.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 did you understand that? yeah. Jalebi_Bhai asked Ethos "C'mon..........Be a straight shooter.......Dhoni or Sachin?? " so he replied "ek hi hain dost............there are no '2' 'Milans'...............ek hi 'AC'......:)" - just like there is only one "Milan" team in Italy, i.e. AC Milan (and not Inter Milan), same way there's only one greatest player i.e. Goddy.
Raghav_12 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 yeah. Goddy. oh okay.. doesn't follow much of Soccer. In any case some of the posts by this new poster don't seem to be in English.
SLICKR392 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 We produce many world class batsmen BECAUSE we had a Sachin. Don't forget that. Most of these youngsters (including Dravid) grew up admiring Sachin and practicing to be a batsman' date= he was the reason many took up a cricket bat and made cricket their career. Dhoni too says this. Lets not take our batting for granted. We had Gavaskar who inspired Sachin but Sachin's popularity inspired so many of our current batsmen Hopefully Dhoni will inspire more big hitters and captains from India in the future Am I missing something here?
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 oh okay.. doesn't follow much of Soccer. In any case some of the posts by this new poster don't seem to be in English. yeah...he's kind of speaking off topic most of the time.
Raghav_12 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 yeah...he's kind of speaking off with no topic most of the time. corrected :cantstop:
saneindian Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Am I missing something here? Sachin inspired Dravid to continue practicing as a batsman? Sachin's greatness is unquestionable but that line of argument is amusing But then coming from MTC, its not s surpise at all.
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 thats just one series. Averaged close to 70 with 347 runs in CB series 2008.
rkt.india Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Sachin inspired Dravid to continue practicing as a batsman? Sachin's greatness is unquestionable but that line of argument is amusing But then coming from MTC, its not s surpise at all. I guess people should not come defending or commenting on threads related to SRT comparing to others. There is no doubt he is India's best cricketer of all time in both the formats but people start counter arguments to prove it to doubters while there is nothing left to be proved.
Sachin=GOD Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Averaged close to 70 with 347 runs in CB series 2008. He did play well there. but with 4 not outs in 10 innings he obviously had to have a very high average.
Raghav_12 Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 Averaged close to 70 with 347 runs in CB series 2008. Didn't have those numbers in my memory. Those are good numbers without doubt even though average bit is misleading.
adi B Posted July 9, 2013 Posted July 9, 2013 ek hi hain dost............there are no '2' 'Milans'...............ek hi 'AC'......:) dont belittle internaziole ,they have more domestic trophies than ACM,2nd most no.of scudettos ,far more successful domestically
