Holysmoke Posted March 9, 2014 Author Posted March 9, 2014 Omega Planet Ocean GMT looks pretty good. I used to wear a Seamaster long time ago when Pierce Brosnan made it popular in 007 films :cantstop: I totally understand that Rolex are not of everyone. Of late, I have been attracted to retro style (though I got my Rolex instinctively before I even realized that I had this fascination). I admire the classic style and how it fuses with the latest technology to create the modern-retro classic look. And importantly the all time classic style never goes out of fashion! My Rolex still looks like a new one available in the market today It is not just in watches, I admire Porsche 911 as well for how it fuses a classic style with modern technology. Every generation (more often than not) keeps getting better and better. The evolutionary process is remarkable. (I don't own a 911 yet). This fascination with classic designs and technology has trickled to laptops too. I have a Thinkpad with i7, 12 GB RAM, IPS display, etc., but it still has the old military styling or what I call business black. I even had some people telling me if I am planning to buy a new laptop (not realizing that I machine has some of the relatively latest 2012 tech :cantstop: ). I know that a year or two down the line, today's design may look out-dated, but my thinkpad will still be a classic and "in"! :two_thumbs_up: You have fine taste. I personally prefer a more understated design rather than a loud in your face bling. The planetocean is also pushing it a bit. I like clean, understated looks and design, but at the same time im not a fan of retro designs.
