Holysmoke Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 Do you wear a watch just to know the time? Or is it a little more than that? What's your brand? Why? I'm thinking of buying a good one, and I'm utterly confused. :nervous:
Swing_n_Speed Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I've recently taken to watches. Fascinated with the various facets of what make a good watch. So on the subject of watches it really depends on ur budget and ur requirements. I'm assuming your looking for a lifestyle watch here? Mid-Range I really like Nautica watches. Good looking and very sturdy. Athletic too. I like the athletic rugged look in my watches. Slightly above Mid-range there's Wenger (cheaper than Victorinox), Victorinox and Tissot. I currently use a Wenger and a Nautica for lifestyle and for training I use a Garmin. Looking to buy a Victorinox next and then inshallah progress to something higher end. My all time dream watch is an Audmars Piguet. The same brand Tendulkar normally sports. Off-course all the watches I have stated kinda epitomize rugged or athletic.
Desi Cartman Posted July 17, 2013 Posted July 17, 2013 I used to till I was in school but since the arrival of mobile phones, its useless to wear a watch. I cant convince myself to buy one now

Shane Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 For the O.P. and kids growing up in the nineties, Remember this? :)
fineleg Posted July 18, 2013 Posted July 18, 2013 I used to till I was in school but since the arrival of mobile phones' date=' its useless to wear a watch. I cant convince myself to buy one now Desi, A watch is not to "tell time" (that was 1980s/90s) - you can tell time with a mobile phone today. It is a fashion accessory. And you are married with kids, so you dont need fashion to impress a girl anymore :icflove:
Holysmoke Posted July 18, 2013 Author Posted July 18, 2013 I used to till I was in school but since the arrival of mobile phones' date=' its useless to wear a watch. I cant convince myself to buy one now[/quote'] You guys are clearly not the target market. A watch is not about telling the time anymore. As fineleg said, it's a fashion accessory now.. more like a tattoo, or a "fancy car" or designer glasses, etc. Haha yeah. This, the calculator watch, and the g shock. Good times:two_thumbs_up:
