You put attacking fields for bowlers who know how to attack and bowl to fields set by captain and not to bowlers who just spray around ball every where. These Aussie bowlers should have given defensive fields and let England force the pace and not give away so many easy fricking runs at most important times. Looks like everyone involved with Australian cricket still think they are still the great team which they are not so they have let their egos go and go ultra defensive mode of Allan Border.

Well I don't think that's going to happen bacause Lehmann says whilst he is coaching we are going to be playing a very aggresive brand of cricket. I know what you mean though and I agree to a certain extent but I don't think our bowling is really the problem; it's our batting which is awful.

Buchanan did Australia Cricket in. Too much emphasis on process and not enough on natural talent. Cowan, Rogers, Steve Smith, Agar, Lyon etc. in Ashes squad? Cupboard can't be this bare. They will continue to do well at home against mid-tier teams, India included, because of very good fast bowling options.

IMO the biggest reason for such a dramatic fall of this once mighty team is CA's failure to plan for the succession of players like Hayden, Langer, Waugh, Gilly, McGrath, Warne etc. Its like they thought these players would play forever so no successors were groomed, and those who were given chances didn't get a long run and were dropped after initial failures.

Right now their batting is just abysmal. Bowling though relatively better, still a great fall from the heights of Mc'Grath and Warne. They can't do much. If you see a player like Steven Smith in playing 11 of a test match, you can say they have got a problem.

That's a broad prediction, one that I would have disagreed with prior to this match. Looks like this will be Clarke's swann song as far as the Ashes are concerned. They'll have to cook up something new in their team meeting because what the Aussies are doing now is simply not working. Clarke's captaincy may be the root of the problem but the question remains, "who's going to bell the cat?". Anderson? Bairstow? Pietersen? Or will it be Bresnan?

Problem with Australian domestic setup is more and more player are into bigbash,you can see the body language ,and they don't seems to be interested in Sheffield shield,the only country interested in test these days is England and Africa ,rest looks disinterested .
