deathmonger Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 The SA ODI team is not very good. SL is defeating them and Pak ran them close in Feb. We should win our 1st ODI series in SA this winter. Tests are another thing, though.
cowboysfan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 we will be competitive but sa will get key players back.
fineleg Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Thread :fail: Sa in sl totally diff sa in sa Latter is lions den
deathmonger Posted July 28, 2013 Author Posted July 28, 2013 Thread :fail: Sa in sl totally diff sa in sa Latter is lions den Pak (which is a **** team) ran them close in SA but what above poster posted is true though. Against Pak key players were rested as they are a liteweight team. Against the no 1 team/World Champions/Champions Trophy winners they won't do such a thing and all of Kallis/Smith/Steyn will play.
cowboysfan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 i would play shami, ishant and bhuvi against SA in the odis
saneindian Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Thread :fail: Sa in sl totally diff sa in sa Latter is lions den Lions den where they got beaten by the Kiwis in an ODI series recently? On topic, their ODI team does look heavily dependent on Amla and ABDV right now. None of the other players are consistent. Going throiugh a transition period. Also, it does look like they don't care much about the ODIs. Have played just 33 ODIs in the last couple of years, SL in comparison have nearly double that , 64 ODIs.

That's what I said, since Pak/NZ are "lighter" teams they rested a lot of personnel. No Kallis. Steyn/Morkel playing alternately etc. If there is any team they will play a full strength team it is most likely India.
hhunaeh Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 I don't think they care about ODIs anymore. Most of their top players/coaches don't give much importance to it. Most of them don't play ODIs. They make to do with whatever they have at the moment.

Cricashfaq Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 TEST is something making me nervous... INDIA VS SOUTH AFRICA IN SOUTH AFRICA!!! :nervous:
cowboysfan Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 what are you guys talking about ? this is as good as it gets for SA,kallis may never play in odis again and steyn and G smith are injured.
indiaregulator Posted July 28, 2013 Posted July 28, 2013 Smith Amla Kallis Du Plessis ABDV Ingram Miller Peterson Tosotobe Steyn Morkel Hardly a poor team. Morkel is one of the best ODI bowlers in the world as is Tstotobe. Steyn is Steyn. Kallis can churn out 5-8 overs. Peterson and Miller can keep it economical. Swap Albie Morkel in if they need a hitter. Smith, Amla, ADBV, Faf, Kallis are wonderful batsman.

Would share the 5th bowler quota with kallis.

G_B_ Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 there was a lot of chatter among SA fans that they wont miss Smith and kallis. That has proven to be wrong......... Sa have always struggled in SL. I am sure they are glad that the test series was postponed for SLPL. Somehow get a feeling Herath would tear through them along with Dilshan. Last time around it was 2-0 to SL and Murali crushed them.
Crookbond Posted July 29, 2013 Posted July 29, 2013 when did sl lose to kiwis at home He meant NZ vs SA in SA - NZ beat SA 2-1 in an ODI series. The only match with SA won was off the last ball with 1 wicket remaining in the 3rd ODI.
