Gambhir, who is fighting to make a comeback into the India side, heaped praise on Dhawan, who smashed second highest individual List A score of 248 against South Africa 'A' on Monday. "Shikhar proud of u, brilliant knock. Keep going, keep the tricolour fluttering. And yes Shikhar, thanks for raising the bar for all of us. Good luck for future too," Gambhir said. Dhawan's opening partner during last two seasons in domestic circuit, Unmukt Chand also took to the micro-blogging site to congratulate the man of the moment. "Cant believe my ears. shikhardhawan gone berserk against south africa A. Sheer demolition by jatt. inspiring," Unmukt wrote.
adityac3688 Posted August 13, 2013 Posted August 13, 2013 Shikhar Dhawan has proved himself an extremely worthy opener! 248 in 150 balls..That's a huge achievement, I do wish for Guatam Gambhir's Comeback and I would love to see Shikhar Dhawan open with Gautam Gambhir, That would be an amazing opening pair!

Hopefully Gambhir will find his form again, Yeah, I've heard he'll be playing in the Tour Of South Africa or Australia! But i'm still not too sure, It would be great to have Gambhir in a few matches, His batting is true beauty

Dhoni really needs to think harder, Should he keep powerful, experienced and loyal players like viru and gauti or crap youngsters like murali vijay

We have just seen some of the most inconsitent players India have produced in last 10 years in the best form of their life who are keeping Sehwag, gambhir, Yuvraj out of the team. Let's see how long the form last of those players. As all know, we are touring overseas and anyone who doesn't perform on any overseas tour gets dropped big time. I can see Sehwag and Gambhir both back in the line up soon.

I know its all left hander at the top but so it be. I might be 'one' of the biggest Gambo fans here but we should stick with Rohit as long as he is doing well opening the innings. Though, I won't be surprised if GG makes a comeback to replace Mooli soon enough.

Line started when I predicted him to be our best bat in his break through series which was after 2007 twenty20 world cup. I am talking about CWB tri series India, Australia, Sri Lanka in 2007/08 when he was our highest scorer. All wanted to see him out of the team for some reason. No one liked Gambhir until then. Same kind of atmosphere now I see. When a player is down, people try to just put him even more down and start talking trash about him. He is a world class player. Top scorer in all major victorires. Even 2020 world cup which we won, he was our highest scorer in the final against Pakistan and in the whole tournament. The more I say about 2011 world cup final, the less.

If he's in Team India he needs to focus on scoring runs consistently and not getting confused and getting out. Basically he just needs to perform more and keep India in a secure position at their innings.

But I want GG to open the innings with Dhawan. Rohit just dont look comfortable in opening. Yes he is scoring runs..but trust me he will do even better in no. 4. But I dont want DK in the side. Yuvi/GG are way better than him.
