I don't have a vote in the US, but I have supported the candidacy of Obama, who promised to bring an end to the Iraq and Afghanistan wars, and has delivered on one of them and is in the process of delivering on the other. I have also participated in anti war protests when I was in graduate school. PS: I don't see the relevance of the religion of innocent civilians who died in these wars being mentioned.
Khalpat Posted August 14, 2013 Posted August 14, 2013 I don't think this kind of questions like how many have been killed by US or how many were killed by Modi or how many killed by Rajeev/Indira really have some significance. It can never lead to a decent or mature debate, it always reminds me of a green colored website. The question might be rephrased as to how many particular community people got killed due to an administrative decision taken by the government of successive state/country. What was the blunder they did and how have they corrected it? Did they had support of their country/state people? Was it a deliberate attempt because of a thinking or was it an incompetency of dealing with situation? Can this be repeated? Will people again support it?

I don't believe they are specifically targetted. But I am thinking Afghanistan, Pakistan, Gulf ( Iraq, Iran ),Cambodia, Nicargua, East Timor, Vietnam, Cuba and many more. I ll avoid bring World War II in this. Some of the genocide was directly done, others by empowering others. What about the Guantanamo Bay detention where Muslims have been held up, abused, humiliated. Some would say it is a terrorist nation by any definition of it or "Genocidal maniac" nation". Not mention failure to adhere to any UN laws. But some how the heart doesn't bleed and blood doesn't boil so much in their case. I wonder aloud, why that is the case. I think we know why.
