StriKe Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 ESPNcricinfo @ESPNcricinfo 1m India to play two Tests against West Indies at home before heading to South Africa. Tendulkar's 200th Test could be at his home ground. BCCI invites WI for Tests before SA tour The BCCI has planned two Tests at home against West Indies before their tour to South Africa, thus ensuring Sachin Tendulkar plays his landmark 200th Test at home, and perhaps bid farewell to the game at the end of the Test series. Tendulkar, who is two Tests short of becoming the first cricketer to feature in 200 Tests, was anticipated to put an end to his 24-year sojourn at the highest level at the end of the South Africa Test series. But the two Tests against West Indies, likely to be played in Kolkata and Mumbai in November, will be a perfect stage for him to sign off in his hometown. Lord Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 If Sachin is planning to retire, his replacement should play this series too. It'd be stupid to take total noob in SA.
Bharat Nirmaan Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Rumour is Sachin and Harbhajan will retire in this series, and Zaheer's fitness will be tested, if he failed then he will be FORCED by selectors to retire too.
JaFanatic Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 What? :(( why crying :poink: we'll play some old cricket
saneindian Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 Where's the time? Perhaps they will play just 3 ODIs in SA now and free up the month of Nov for this test series. I hope they do not cut down any tests from the SA series.
Pagalpanti Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 If Sachin is planning to retire' date='his replacement should play this series too. It'd be stupid to take total noob in SA.[/quote'] As far as BCCI is concerned, they wouldn't let any other country milk the opportunity (Sachin's 200th test).
saneindian Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 An an after thought, could this also be the farewell series for Sachin?
StriKe Posted September 1, 2013 Author Posted September 1, 2013 If Sachin is planning to retire' date='his replacement should play this series too. It'd be stupid to take total noob in SA.[/quote'] All this plan for Sachin to play 200th test in-front of home crowd(Mumbai). Question is, Will he retire or he will he go to SAF?

Lord Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 All this plan for Sachin to play 200th test in-front of home crowd(Mumbai). Question is, Will he retire or he will he go to SAF? I think he'll be told to retire after this series.
Soorma_Bhopali Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 I think he'll be told to retire after this series. I think Originally , there were 4 tests, 7 ODI's and 2 T20s to be played in SA ..I hope ,after this schedule change, they play atleast 3 Tests , 5 ODI's and 2 T20s ..
FischerTal Posted September 1, 2013 Posted September 1, 2013 This tour is most likely cancelled :bye:
