all im saying is its not the only reason.... anyway did they increase ram or no? this is one area they are bit behind and it will hep if they bump it up to 2 gb and also the screen... well if only they made a bigger phone around 4.7 inches with 2600 mah battery they will win me over easily :cantstop:
It is one of the CORE reasons. IDK about RAM - you can check the tech specs here - https://www.apple.com/iphone-5s/specs/

64 bit datapath and cpu would mean the processor can fetch 64 bit memory chunks in one go and the cpu can make 64 bit calculations in one go. 32 bit cpu and datapath would mean 32 bits of data can be fetched and worked upon in one go, anything more would mean you have to repeat the operation again.

I have iPhone 4S and before that had 4, I only upgraded to 4s as gsm coverage in US sucks. Again I don't see a reason to get 5 or 5s. Apps are the same, the speed is good as in I don't see lag when I open apps. I really don't see any reason to upgrade from 4 to anything newer. Now for people criticizing apple, don't you all get super excited when Samsung/android announces a phone size of a ****ing TV or they introduce finger Swipe for typing ? The reality is that the phones haven't really changed in the last 5-6 years and I don't see major change coming up in the another 2-3 years. So it's all fun to laugh at apple but all makers are doing te same
I have a 4S and will never upgrade too; in fact I will not change for another 2 years. The iOS7 updates are available for the 4S too. iPhone 5 is discontinued for the cheaper polycarbonate made iPhone5C. The "upgrade" only makes sense for new buyers who may want to invest for a 3-4 year term. In addition, some buyers on contract may not have to pay (or pay very less) for phone upgrades so that makes it pretty much a straight forward choice for them.

The reduction in operations would mean lesser power requirements to perform operations and hence a +ve effect on battery life.

Apple is pretty much holding itself back if they think they can get away with introducing fingerscan technology in 2013 as their premier feature. Still no NFC Camera updated but still nowhere near the competitors Screen Size still restricted No Wireless Charging

the apple phone covers are way too expensive at their centres, better to buy from purchase domains like flipkart for almost 40% low cost.. well DM has rightly mentioned some special features of iPhone 5C but i guess most of us dont give a sh1t on some of those features :cantstop:

Too much focus on the finger print and not on the actual features. Who cares much about finger print.
Apple has failed to keep the innovations up. They are struggling to add new features to their products. Features that makes a man more efficient and adds to productivity. This fingerprint feature is fancy, but actually useless.

may be useful for NSA & the govt

Current generation phones do not have enough memory to take advantage of 64 bit.64bit apps & games are rare on computers so with limited ram its will have minimal impact n this generation .Also impact on battery life will be minimal as memory consumption will increase on one hand .it actually may decrease battery life.

More mega-pixels does not mean better photos. The goal is to take better photos - not the one with more MPs. If the aperture lens and new flash can help take better photos - who cares what the MPs are? There is a knee break point for MPs after which there is a law of diminishing returns. This is all the 90s and early 2000s all over again. I have 1.2GHz processor and you have 1.0GHz so its better. :wall: Who cares about fingerprint? There is a billion dollar banking industry licking their lips. For now, there is need for skepticism but it can't be brushed aside and it can't be called a success either. The credit card companies have their hearts in their mouths for now on this - only time will tell. Innovation doesn't come every second year. It takes decades for something to come out revolutionary - the first cell phone working prototype was in the 1950s but it only became a household device in the late 90s.

For people complaining about lack of NFC, Apple has offered something called iBeacons. Paypal will come out with a hands free app next year.

Why it might be a NFC killer? iBeacon could be a NFC killer because of its range. NFC tags are pretty cheap compared to NFC chips, but NFC tags are required on each product because NFC works only in very close proximity. In theory, NFC range is up to 20cm (7.87 inches), but the actual optimal range is less than 4cm (1.57 inches). Also, mobile devices need to contain a NFC chip that can handle any NFC communications. On the other hand, iBeacons are a little expensive compared to NFC chips, but iBeacons range is up to 50 meters. Not all phones have NFC chips, but almost all have Bluetooth capability.

true that. add to that, each instruction stored in the ram will now take double the space.
