More a Test player' date=' than an ODI player[/size'] Keep his Test form fresh, by playing him in Tests and then in domestics and english-county cricket. ODI - he may not be the best fit, he may be "ok-ish" there.

Ofc thats true but I feel he can do a lot more in the ODIs as well if he opens. He needs some kind of a good knock(somehow like Kohli got a good 70-80 against WI in the CT '09). That will give him the confidence that he belongs.

True. He gets nervous too soon if there are a few dot balls. He'll do well if he sorts these little issues out.

Rahane should play in longer format as his FC record suggests. He's poor in odis and he should not be played in odis. He's someone who needs to take his time at the crease to build his innings and not really made for odis which his List A stats indicate.

Nope. Likes of Pujara and Kedar Jadhav deserve to get chances ahead of him owing to their performances in domestic cricket. Plus Rahane had a decent shot in odis and must wait for his chance in case others don't grab their chances.

He should be persisted for the WC. He would be an asset in Aus and can actually play well against the new ball. We will need a good start from our openers and Pujara is the right man for the job. My team for 2015 WC would be... Dhawan Pujara Kohli Kedar Jadhav Raina Dhoni A pace all-rounder (maybe Irfan) one of Jaddu/Ashwin Bhuvi Shami 3rd pacer - whoever's the best at the time. In case Kedar is not selected and Rahane is still in the team I would change the top order as follows and rest of the team remains as is. Dhawan Rahane Pujara Kohli

You have to remember that in Aus & NZ 260-280 is more than likely to be a winning score and we can get there with this lineup.

When we chase 250-260 and when a Rahane or Rayudu comes to middle with 6+ RPO needed, we are screwed.
