In my team Rahane is not there at all and if he's there he's at the top opening the innings. My middle order will have guys like Kohli, Jadhav, Dhoni & Raina who can score at a fast clip followed by Jadeja & Pathan (if he finds his mojo in time for WC).

He's not the guy to turn the matches at 50/4 but he will do the needful when the score's 180/4 and quick runs are needed.

Raina is at least a pretty good fielder. Do you remember the game against SL in Aus where Ind had to score 320 in 40 overs to have a chance to qualify? Raina played a pretty good knock once he came with the platform set. With powerplay and with just 4 fielders outside the circle Raina will have a role to play in the WC. The mistake we committed was in trying to make Raina a no. 4 batsman (Project Raina). That was a mistake. Raina is a lower order batsman who should come in at 6 to get quick runs and not at 4 to play through an innings.

CG Posted February 16, 2014 Posted February 16, 2014 That was Odis He did well against morkel In tests he just defends solidly in Odis he goes for shots where he misses the ball Morkel hardly bowls full.Rahane has to improve his front foot play .He looks like walking in to the shot and the second step is where he should be while driving the ball.
