King Tendulkar Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 We were never this trundley. Yes we want 90mph bowlers. But this attack is other exterme, we have two who bowl under 80 and one who bowls around 82!! FFS at least pick one bowler who once in the innings clocks 86 or something!!! This attack is a pathetic. Even haters of fast bowling will must understand this is to far the other way
maniac Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Agarkar' date=' Nehra, Zaheer were GOLD for us compared to these guys. No one can deny that.[/quote'] Munaf too....He was one of our better death bowlers for sure
GoldenSun Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I never though I would say this, but I miss Sir Aggie :((
King Tendulkar Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Aggy used to bowl 140 with movement. Yes would bowl often one four ball every 2 overs but had some real zip and wicket taking about them

Even haters of fast bowling will must understand this is to far the other way 83-86 will be real buffet on these tracks.....Johnson is a different beast....While I would say umesh might do well with the new ball with his pace, just to get 135-140 bowlers will be a disaster given some of the names that are thrown around. Guys like Awana,Dinda and shami are not international class and they all can bowl upto 140
Cricketics Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 What a shyt day it was though today. Southampton scored equalizer against Man U right at the same time Ishant was givign away the game to Aus. Bad phase of the day that was. Glad that hour is over.
GoldenSun Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 I really think the entire culture of fast bowling in India needs to be carefully examined.. We SUCK bigtime at developing fast bowlers.
adi B Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 nehra has 2-3 times won us the match when the opposition required 9 of the last ovr..these trundlers nowadays serve a lolly fulltoss to help the batsmen finish the game quickly..concept of yorker is outdated in india nowadays, add to that dhoni who is a nightmare captain for pacers

King Tendulkar Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 This is most predictable attack in 20 years. pathetic At least pick a trundling left armer as variety or something. No variety . Just right arm trundelr after right arm trundler Dont get vinnay. Bowls 78 mph and no movement whatsoever. Also the combined weight of our trundle malnourished attack is around 90 kg

Who trains these guys...Fire the bowling coach
saneindian Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 This is some thrashing. Missed the last 13 overs. Looks like first Dhoni had a brain freeze and then Ishant decided to be extra benevolent! Problems galore now. Both Ishant and Vinay started well and again finished poorly. Yuvi hasnt done much in the 3 ODIs either, though would have been hindered by the dew tonight. Raina at 4 not working. Whn do they pick the team for next 4 ODIs? A number of players will most likely lose their spot now. Umesh, Mohit should come in, perhaps even Zaheer may comeback if Dhoni is really desperate.
Manny_Pacquiao Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 Aggy used to bowl 140 with movement. Yes would bowl often one four ball every 2 overs but had some real zip and wicket taking about them Every 2 overs? More like every 3 balls I agree with u tho, he was still better than these guys. Went for runs, but at least got a few wickets. Some of These guys can't even get wickets

saneindian Posted October 19, 2013 Posted October 19, 2013 No point in comparing these guys to earlier attacks. The 4 fielder rule for the last 10 overs is really hurting nearly every team irrespective of how good the bowling attack is. Most teams are conceding 75-80 runs on a regular basis in those 10 overs. And we go at 105-110 Dhoni tried Ashwin in the death overs today, seems to have worked to an extent but that over to Kohli after PP was suicidal. Yuvi's bowling not working hasn't helped things. plus Bhuvi hasn't been able to get the team early breakthroughs either, that IMo has been the biggest reason for the bowling attack looking poor. Changes needed in personnel and some new thinking required as well. Lets see how Patil responds now.

Agree, new rules make it tougher on bowlers. 4 fielders rule has definitely helped India's batting though, with the kind of middle order india has, they can chase anything. Need to use spinners At the death, jadeja and ashwin have proven themselves to be more than capable. Problem is that dhoni lacks a good first change bowler that can be used to control batsmen in the middle overs. Mohit should get the new ball with BK, both of them use the new ball well. Finding a first change is difficult though, can't think of any bowler that could fill that role

But at this stage the risk has to be taken. Hopefully Aaron can comeback and be fit after playing 2-3 months of domestic cricket. Will be a good addition to ODI bowling attack. Also not sure if Zak should be back for ODIs. Will be a short term solution. Patil has a huge headache ahead of him. As I said will be interesting to see how he responds now. Has done most things right in the last 12 months

He could be the next guy they choose, let's see what happens :--D
