skindia Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 bhuvi mohit sharma varun aaron pankaj singh and piyush chawla( he deserves comeback)
express bowling Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Shami's speed varies quite a bit. On average' date=' I think it was unadkat, then shami then Mohit and then vinay on that tour.[/quote'] Speed guns indicate speed at the time of release only. If Unadkat is actually hurrying batsmen due to bounce, pace off the pitch and seam movement - that is what is important. After all , need for pace is to hurry batsmen. Speedgun readings are not always as important for tall, bouncy pacers, ad we have seen in the case of McGrath. But the visual hurrying of batsmen must be present.

Unadkat is a tall left arm fast bowler like bracken but faster than Nathan bracken IMO.

But it wont happen on Indian pitches. It was happening there because those were helpful pitches in the morning, especially in first 3 matches in Harare and another thing is, Unadkat does get ball to swing in to right handers but that mostly happens from short of length which might trouble the batsman but wont take his wicket. I have never seen him getting inswing when he pitches the ball up. He normally does not get his line right. His only benefit is being a left armer he will provide different angle and will mostly take the ball away from batsmen and has decent slower balls.

Bracken was easily 6'5" and has good inswing.

Mostly 134 k to 141 k. Occasionally 130 to 138 k. I think you are including domestic cricket to get the variation. In Indian domestic matches either the speed gun readings mostly come about 5k lesser or bowlers actually bowl slower. Whatever the case, speed gun readings generally vary.

A very valid point regarding the effect of Zim pitches. My only hope is that I saw Unadkat visually hurrying batsmen on a relatively placid domestic pitch.

He was bowling all sorts of slow speeds, occasional spells of fast medium as well.
CG Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 We need to build a attack first.Bhuvi has been great in odis so we got a spot filled now we need to look for variety a leftarmer may be suyal or unadkat can do the job and a quick bowler likes of yadav, aaron, shukla and also guys like shami, pandey who have done well in dc should be given a chance.
ShebbySB Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 For test matches :- Seamers-BK,Umesh,Shami,Pandey,Mohit. Spinners-Ashwin,Ojha,Jadeja. For LOIs :- BK,Aaron,Mohit,Shukla,Shami,Ashwin,Jadeja,Rahul Sharma. Guys like Suyal,Kulkarni,Rasool,Nadeem can come in with consistent performances. Vinay Kumar should be hanged till death,Ishant should be kicked out too & I'm sure Unadkat will fail against better oppositions.
Vilander Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Pankaj singh in place of Ishant sharma now.. :hitler:
msb1991 Posted October 17, 2013 Posted October 17, 2013 Pankaj singh in place of Ishant sharma now.. :hitler: Would be nice but I think his only hope in is to get a spearhead role in an IPL franchise and do very well throughout the season. Similar to what Mohit Sharma did for CSK.
