Most of them 'maha trundlers', many of them 'malnourished & pathetic' besides having made their debut under Dada. Might as well add the likes of SS Das and Kaif who looked equally 'malnourished'. Had ICF been around, god knows the kind of abuses Ganguly would have got for picking these type of players.

Bangar and Yadav were all rounders we tried for Robin Singh's replacement and both of them had more pace than Robin Singh.

and they all got booted out rightly after playing just handful of matches..most of them except rp singh played less than 10 odis i think but here we have a captain who is giving assurances to guys like vinee of playing at least 100 odis,ishant of playing 100 test etc.. guys with poor odi records are still playing year in year out and still not dropped. hope u got the difference,its not only about selecting incompetent bowlers but at least drop them or dont give them a long rope where we know they will perform poorly

Of course, we both know it is not so simple but it is a nice argument for anyone who thinks that Dhoni is a poor captain or that Ganguly is far better. As far as I'm concerned, Dhoni is a tactical genius.

In the past, I used to think ganguly is India's best captain, then thought dhoni is the best captain and now I think captaincy is overrated.

???? the topic is about pace bowlers.not the indian team.the correlation is very slim when one considers the pace bowlers are measured by how least they contribute to the opposition. The improvement in indian ODI team mostly came about because the youngsters can play the singles game better ,strike better ,run between wickets betterand field better. case in point SL's sluggish conditions-losses till 2005.wins since 2007

there is basis to the argument that dhoni prefers pacers of lesser pace more compared to ganguly.or that he gives too long a rope to someone like vinay.

L Balaji malnourished and used to bowl 125K when Wavel Hinds thrashed him allover in his debut match.

Sachin-45 Gnaguly-40+ Even in this T20 era no Sri Lankan batsman averages 40+.. and Sri Lanka used to thrash Ganguly's team ,which shows that Agarkars,Nehras,Bhajjis were mediocre ODI bowlers.

We could never win finals under Ganguly barring 1 or 2 instances. But with Dhoni, apart from Asia Cup 2008 final(where Mendis destroyed us) I can't remember us losing any other final.

Who cares about ODI , T20, Dhoni sucks as a player and captain in Test's,his captaincy is about attrition and not attacking, cutting of runs which only works in shorter games and subcontinent wickets, his batting, captaincy, choice of bowlers sucks in general and he is more lucky and bull headed which works for him in certainly formats and wickets Ganguly was in a different league, he built a team, made the pool, Dhoni was handed a fantastic team and we all know what happens ed in tests after these players left, if Dada had the batting talent player wise and with his astute and aggressive thinking and captaincy he would have looked at the weaknesses and try and build a formidable pace attack , Dhoni has been pathetic and defensive and very poor in that matter.

A better bowling team will always have upper hand if they have a half decent batting. Jaysuriya was India's nemesis. We had SRT, Dravid, Ganguly. Other than them all others were inconsistent.
