dhawan rahane pujara sachin kohli nohit dhoni bhuvi/shami(wont mind any of them but shami should get the debut) ashwin ojha umesh dhoni will play 2 spinners wad so ashwin and ojha will get the nod..i`ll play rahane as the opener instead of mooli but his fabulous last series cant be neglected so he`ll get the nod but no mooli in safrica. the team looks strong

is SIR dropped bcoz the indian management,selectors and the captain dont see him as the part of the team for upcoming away tours like saf,nzl,eng etc? they might try all the 3 pacers and select the better of the 2 spinner since india will field a 3 pace,1 spinner attack for away games.. its a decision for the future tours i think which is fair

he will most probably not be in the squad for the away series so probably the selectors and management are giving chances to all those who`ll be in the squad for those upcoming away tours..but then u cant drop the best spinner of the last series just like that

why he cant be in the squad as a backup spinner to Ashwin?why decide he'll fail before giving him a chance.its not like other spinners have done well overseas

hmm agree with lord. while I don't want sir to making the starting 11, he can be back up to Ashwin in SA. In addition to the main playing 11, India probably need 1 back up batsman, 1 back up spinner, 1 back up keeper batsman and 1 back up spinner. (assuming 15 man squad)

There were to be a total of two training sessions before this series against West Indies. The Tests were arranged because the BCCI reportedly wanted to punish CSA for appointing a CEO it didn't like, and at the same time couldn't have its players sit at home during peak season. So onwards we went towards a series with no build-up or context or duration. Two training sessions before the two Tests each, and boom, in two weeks the series is over. ... Despite there being precious little to recommend this series by, apart from Tendulkar and Chanderpaul, what it has going for it is the relief it will bring after the batting pornography that played out in India over the last month. There will be consequence attached to big shots here. The ball will swing more, turn more, and reverse when it ages. Chanderpaul and Cheteshwar and anyone who puts a price on his wicket will be welcome sights. R Ashwin can go back to working batsmen out as opposed to finding ways to concede as few sixes as possible; Kemar Roach's pace will be respected and not flayed. Chris Gayle and Shikhar Dhawan might want to upset the pace a bit, but they will do so after weighing up the massive consequences of an early wicket in a Test match. And if it doesn't go to plan, you can always wear the Tendulkar mask you will be given on the first day, reminisce, enjoy his farewell, and put the burden of this series on his shoulders.

Eden curator stops Rohit Sharma from having a look at pitch As Rohit came near the pitch that was fenced with a board with the instructions 'Only Captain and Coach are allowed inside', Mukherjee barred the Indian batsman from going near the strip. The Mumbai batsman didn't get into any sort of argument but certainly wasn't happy with what had happened. However, Mukherjee acceded to coach Duncan Fletcher's request of using the adjacent strips near the pitch for pace bowlers as Ishant Sharma and Bhuvneshwar Kumar were seen bowling.
The last bit is worrying though :nervous: Ishant and Bhuvy practicing.. are they seriously thinking of playing Ishant ahead of Yadav or for that matter Shami??
