Scarves Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Best Lineup for Australia in Ashes: Warner Hughes Watson Clarke Bailey Forrest Wade Pattinson Johnson Harris Lyon Hilfenhous (12th Man) Yeah....no that is terrible. See my team honestly would have been Warner Rogers Watson Clarke Hughes Smith Haddin Siddle Patto Harris Lyon Since Patto is injured you slot Johnson in. Hughes FC is amazing. 21 tons and he is 24 so he is a talent. Doolan is close to be picked. But looking at this squad. Bailey is a concern but other than that it is basically what everyone knows. Also Prior for ENG looking like he'll be out.

There have been so many players who just stayed FC legends and never did great at test level. Phillip Hughes is one of those guys. A dancing wicket.
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 My Australia XI Rogers Warner Watson Clarke Smith Bailey Haddin Lyon Johnson Siddle Harris
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 My Australia XI Rogers Warner Watson Clarke Smith Bailey Haddin Lyon Johnson Siddle Harris Ditto.
Scarves Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 There have been so many players who just stayed FC legends and never did great at test level. Phillip Hughes is one of those guys. A dancing wicket. He's is fine. He is the youngest to score a ton in each innings against Steyn and co. I might add. The problem is confidence. The guy literally plays with an axe over his head every single game because they don't want to drop Warner or Watson. Then he moves positions because Watson and Clarke don't want to move. The guy is a talent heck Ponting said so and Ponting didn't say anything about Warner. The guy needs a while to actually show his stuff without the axe over his head.
Scarves Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 My Australia XI Rogers Warner Watson Clarke Smith Bailey Haddin Lyon Johnson Siddle Harris I would be very concerned if Lyon is batting 8. :hysterical:
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Australia must leave Bailey out of the Ashes Squad- Ian Chappell I would be very concerned if Lyon is batting 8. :hysterical: In my XI's, I always put the spinner before the fast bowlers :beee: Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 aaalroundar world wide, selectors cant differentiate between ODI and Tests :wall:
FischerTal Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Rhino will still run through the Pommie puppies :ohyeah:
Lord Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 aaalroundar Watson does that job.they need a proper seamer more
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Watson does that job.they need a proper seamer more Watson got injured in ODIs, so may not bowl.
MCcricket Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I am not sure about Faulkner as a test bowler, Hilfy, Bollinger?
adi B Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Ashes squad announced & bailey finds a place .. :--D Chris Rogers, David Warner, Shane Watson, Michael Clarke (capt), Steve Smith, George Bailey, Brad Haddin (wk, vice-capt), James Faulkner, Mitchell Johnson, Peter Siddle, Ryan Harris, Nathan Lyon. rogers warner watto clarke bailey smith hadd mitch siddle rhino lyon this`ll be the playing 11,not bad at all but will rhino, mitch last 5 days :nervous:
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 this`ll be the playing 11,not bad at all but will rhino, mitch last 5 days :nervous: Johnson is one of their fittest guy and rarely gets injured. He is one bowler who can bowl same pace whole day.
Lord Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 I am not sure about Faulkner as a test bowler' date=' Hilfy, Bollinger?[/quote'] Coulter Nile,Hilfy are still better
saneindian Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 world wide' date=' selectors cant differentiate between ODI and Tests :wall:[/quote'] Doesn't have a bad FC record. 38 matches, 1379 runs@30, 138 wickets@23. And in the only test he's played so far, he bowled superbly on a flat Oval pitch.
rkt.india Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 Faulkner is a bowling alrounder and I doubt he is one their top 3 fast bowlers. So, he can only play if they want to play 5 bowlers. They should have picked Moises Henrqiues who is a batting alrounder who can bat 6 and bowl a bit as 5th bowler. Henrqies is more of a batsman who can bowl.
rajkanwar321 Posted November 12, 2013 Posted November 12, 2013 :two_thumbs_up: this old chappell is past his date' date=' he anyway said its a meaningless series so why should anyone bother. Never have this oldie here in India. Bailey is a gun.[/quote']
