adi B Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Sidhu is the biggest headache of them all.I still remember how he wrote of england after 1st tests and said bad things about them ' date='the look on his face and the stutter in his voice when england won was defining.[/quote'] he and shastri always do that :cantstop:

Cricketics Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Do they still say things like "Gaind balle ka bhaari kinara lagte wein sidha seema paar, 4 run ki aur." I think they used to speak like that during Maninder Singh, Yashpal Sharma hindi commentary days.

sscomp32 Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 One more thing. Siddhu has a good memory. He says so much proverbs, shayaris and cliche statements that sometimes i cant stop laughing. :cantstop: After the match there was a show sachin sachin on Star sports 3 . And Siddhu, kapil dev, harsha were talking about at what age they got married and the benfit of marriages. :giggle: One thing is for sure channel 3 is full comedy. :haha:
Sidhoni Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Maninder Singh was really good in Hindi commentary. They should call him back.

saneindian Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Will post some snippets from Hindi commentary today. Much more fun than the English commentary which basically has nothing to offer other than cliches except when Ganguly and Dravid talk.

Lord Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Yup' date=' He said that while explaining how Tendulkar learned the sweep.[/quote'] Sidhu?which innings was he referring to btw:haha:
Crookbond Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 Hindi Commentary is a huge hit in the North Indian market. Haven't seen the numbers on advertising revenues but go to any normal shop during a cricket match these days and the TV inside is running Hindi commentary. Have see this across number of smaller towns in the last 12 months +1 The average man prefers Hindi commentary over English for sure. However, the issue with that class of population is whether they are willing to spend in some extra money to make a subscription to a sports channel.
G_B_ Posted November 7, 2013 Posted November 7, 2013 say 10 million out of 150 million hindi households spend Rs20 a month for star cricket hindi + advertisement revenue. Not a bad deal. It works for hindi thats for sure. Will it work for other languages? dont know.
