He was up to 145kph today from what I saw. He looks quite the prospect! FC strike rate of 38.5 - definitely a wicket taker.

This guy is not bad. He does not chuck like Junaid and is skiddy. If Lambu Irfan does not step on him by mistake and crush him, he may be good for LOIs. . :--D

If he was Indian, this forum would be going nuts. This guy clearly wants to bowl fast, he absolutely charges in, has a great action and follows through very similar to Mohammad Zahid. It will be interesting to see if he can keep it up when it is not his debut and the adrenaline isn't pumping quite as hard. Big proof that to bowl at a very good speed, you do not need height or a big frame, you need a good action. Height obviously helps but it is by no means necessary.

@ msb Height is immaterial for bowling fast. There is nothing to stop a 5'0" guy from having a release speed of 150 k. Height is necessary for steep bounce. Also, the trajectory of the delivery becomes much steeper and hence more difficult to play. Flip side is, in the subcontinent with its low bounce pitches, short and skiddy bowlers get a lot of lbw and bowled outs with the ball remaining low and skidding through. This guy may have this advantage.

Lol....what do you think ? Indians can't bowl 145-147ks ? There are quite a few bowlers who consistently touch 145+ ks but Indians are not obsessed of PHAAAASSSSSTTTT bowling. These Indian bowlers are not bad, but in the domestic circuit these bowlers bowl to top class Indian domestic batsmen who thrash them all over the park. Inspite of being good these PHAASSST bowlers don't make it to the national side.

Strange that it may sound, there are quite a few quick bowlers who are not even in our A team. Don't know whether they consistently touch 145 k+, maybe not, but surely capable of 135 to 145 k range. Pawan Suyal in FC av. 26, SR 43 is not even in our A team. And he can swing the ball at 140 +. There are a few others. There is Pankaj Singh who bowls 135 to 142 k , is 6'6" with excellent FC average and not in the A team. He had written that we, Indians are not obsessed with pace. Actually we are. We are obsessed with playing 127 k pacers with no skills like Vinay, Unadkat etc. and won't play 3 good quick bowlers at the same time even if we have them. Even you guys have seen better pacers than Vinay and Unadkat representing India, haven't you ! Nowadays, it is more a matter of selection policy than lack of pace talent.

impressive bowling, but will struggle in Asian conditions. will be great in English conditions.
