Dhoni absolutely a champion as far as an ODI , T20 CAPTAIN AND HAS WON IT ALL, also has a very good record when India play test at home, he has a fixed approach which works for him in India in ODI AND TESTS but is a failure on faster tracks. So I TRIED TO UNDERSTAND WHAT MAKES HIM THIN OR DO THINGS WE ALL CANNOT UNDERSTAND or are basic per logic, like not opening with Shami, playing trundlers at the cost of a genuine fast bowler in the lineup, in ODI Dhoni is looking for control and minimizing the damage, POWER PLAYS NOT GIVING TOO MANY RUNS AND WICKETS WILL COME AS IN India THERE WILL BE RUNS SCORED AND SOME TIMES THE SLOWNESS ALSO CAUSES THE BATTERS TO MISSTIME AND TRUNDLERS CAN BE EFFECTIVE IN A FEW GROUNDS BUT ARE LIMITED AS THEY CAN BE SLAUGHTERED AT THE DEATH AND MIDDLE OVERS . DHONI HAS BECOME OVER DEFENSIVE NOW WITH TWO NEW BALLS AND 4 FIELDERS ONLY OUTSIDE THE CIRCLE AND is scared to play a bowler who might be hit lol, well everyone wants to win and m sure he wants to win away too as he would be called a bully at home and a rabbit away from home, SO WHERE IS HE GOING WRONG, WELL IT IS HIS THOUGHT PROCESS, WHO ARE THE CULPRITS ITS HIM, FLETCHER AND SELECTORS, OTHER SENIOR PLAYERS IN THE TEAM.THE MISTAKES DHONI IS MAKING ARE VERY BASIC, AND HIS CHOICES BEING DEFENSIVE MINIMISES OUR CHANCES OF WINNING, WHY IS THAT LETS ANALYSE. Wickets are the most important thing to slow down scoring and Dhoni needs to understand , pace well you might give some runs but buy wickets and even make the opposition think twice about giving us spicy tracks to play on so we win both ways. Now medium pacers might look good one day but are only effective based on conditions and can only perform mostl as opeining bowlers and be effective when the ball is doing something, what about the middle and death overs so Dhoni sacrifices his best bowler to make up and bowl as a stock bowler in the middle [sHAMI], now this hurts us two ways, by the time he is bowling the batters are set, damage is done and he has too look to bowl to keep it tight and not just buy wickets, also limits Dhonis option if spinners are hit as Bhuvi, Mohit are not good with old ball or at death. Dhoni has recently stated we lost because we did not have pace bowler in our lineup and who made that decision , he did? so he is contradicting himself, confused thinking, also embarrassing thin recently was he in a interview stated how he wanted to win a treble in T20 and ignoring what is ahead of him is he trying to distract the people? Where should his priority lie ? well to be the best test side in the world , is he focusing on it? I don't think so? being pro active ? no Now it comes to the fact does India have the resources to be aggressive and win abroad ? yes they do. What he could have done, I am sure Ganguly or any other good captain would have asked for Zak in the odi side, Open with Zak, Umesh and give Umesh 3 overs to bowl fast and see how it goes and then bring in Shami, next Bhuvi bowling in the middle overs, and lastly one spinner among the two, would this be a good attack , hell yes, would SAFFERS think twice about giving us a grren track with Zak, Umesh, Shami bowling as fast as them and a combo which might be more skillfull then them and as pacy, so whats stopping him , dunno, he has enough power to get his wish with selectors, management, where is Fletcher in all this? Now selectors, never have I seen worst selectors then Sreekant and co , absolutely the pits, favouring players from a certain zone, club dunno but did not make sense, Patil and CO better but not good at spotting and nurturing bowling talent, why? we all knew we have almost 2 years with a schedule where will be playing most good sides away, so what did we need, batters well we are well stocked and have a decent pool , problem lies with bowling, now who on earth thinks Unadkunt, Mohit, Bhuvi [though he is decent], Mithun, Narwal, Vk, can be international or even decent bowlers if not world class, so why did the selectors waste two years in giving them chances after chances at the cost of finding one decent pacer, why did Dhoni no request for a pacer as Zak did for Mumbai, why did Fletcher, Dawes , selectors not see the obvious, why is Pankaj out of the Indian team, WHY did Suyal not play an A game, why was Umesh not given games to get into form for SA, WHY WAS iSHANT NOT DROPPED EARLIER SO HE COULD GET INTO WORKING ON HIS BOWLING. SELECTORS WELL IN India YOU CAN NEVER DEPEND ON THEM TO IDENTIFY AND NURTURE THE RIGHT BOWLER AT NATIONAL AND DOMESTIC LEVELS, even Zak could not make it to the Mumbai squad when their team had pathetic trundlers and he had to move to Baroda , same with Shami, Umesh, Aaron who had to sit and carry drinks forever and wait for VK , Unadkat, mithun to be injured or for want of bowler finally getting a go. It all comes down to focus, Dhoni does not focus so much on test cricket and cares about it that much, his focus is on t20, ODI, his game plan and defensive tactic only works in India and the sub continent, added to it he is stubborn and does not want to change his ways, 8-0 loss made us a joke in international cricket and we Indians want to pride ourselves as having a world class side, we cannot rely on Fletcher to flex his muscles or selectors making strategig and good selections and plan ahead , so what do we need, WE NEED A GOOD TEST CAPTAIN, someone like Ganguly who focused on winning away and knew what it took, focis should be on tests and not be treated as a step child as BCCI, cAPTAIN dHONI IS DOING, also will lift burden of Dhoni's shoulder, this might be done but as in always our case after damage is done, Dhoni should be replaced as attest captain after our 8-0 loss, bring in Virat, even Zak for gods sake as we have no future as far as being a world class side until we have a captain who focusses and thinks right as far as test cricket, also this way we will have diffent players in test and odi squad who will specialize in their version, bowlers with Pace for test, skilful players in odi.

The ASHES tour should be an education for Dhoni , how Clarke turned around the series in his favor and destroyed the Poms only thru his thinking despite being underdogs, not having a decent batting lineup and comparatively a weaker team thru aggression and strategy.

I'm not fan of dhoni the captain but hes the best we have atm
How do we know that do we have 10 ex captains in the team ? Give Virat, Rohit, Gambhir, Pujara a go, m sure we will find a even better test captain then Dhoni and that is not a big deal as Dhoni is a poor test captain and this is a fact.

Its not going to happen india loves odis and we are no 1 odi team.He has support of bcci also.So he is not going anywhere.

India will not be remembered for its muscle or money power , if they want respect from cricket fans all across the globe then they have to win away in test's or every thing else will fade in comparison, BCCI also wins in a way as if India wins away and at home then all the talk about big brother arm twisting will also die down as what is done in the field matters most.

Rohit.....the way he handled malinga and Johnson in the Ipl was brilliant.....even a washed up bhajji showed flashes of old and Johnson is finally fulfilling his immense potential

If a home team has 5 pacers in their side and is batting first , does it take a genius to pick two spinners and two trundlers and having ur best bowler bowl in the middle to keep it tight lol, which world is he living in LA LA LAND OR SIMPLY MADE ENOUGH MONEY AND FAME TO CARE ABOUT OUR PERFORMANCE AWAY IN CONDTIONS THAT WE FANS CARE ABOUT AND MATTERS MOST.

I am a big fan of his but please ! if 0-8 doesn't get him off his Test captaincy, I have no clue what does. Any other country would have booted him out of the Test side after 0-4 but its 0-8 we are talking about followed by 1-2 at home against a piss poor sub continent side, England.
