King Tendulkar Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Not by much though. And who are these great fast bowlers and what are their figures? Ishant? Except for Shammi' date=' who is deadly accurate, much more than our trundlers, I don't see much hope[/quote'] Pace with slightly less accuracy is more effective then trundling with accuracy. This is magnified overseas Plus if you back pacers and give them as much rope as trundlers amd sure will improve leaps and bounds

Except for Shammi' date=' who is deadly accurate, much more than our trundlers, I don't see much hope[/quote'] what do you mean accurate ? zack, shami are accurate and yadav is one who can attack . in odi these bowlers did much better for 90 percent of game..make it 99 percent of game when they bowled compared to guys we picked in first game who were totally useless

King Tendulkar Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 biggest problem is our tunddlers are not even accurate like philander or anderson they bowl all the same lose balls jsut at lesser pace anderson is not a trundler, maybe in progress in becoming one but not trundler

This is magnified overseas Plus if you back pacers and give them as much rope as trundlers amd sure will improve leaps and bounds When you are bowling quick, the margin of error is higher. People who played cricket would understand this, but those who watch cricket on tv and play playstation cricket would never understand it and its waste of time convincing them. :winky:
Old guy Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 anderson is not a trundler' date=' maybe in progress in becoming one but not trundler[/quote'] i know but that is the problem i try to find tundlers playing test cricket and there are almost none atleast none of good bowlers are and philander is also quicker than bhuvi and our slower guys and much much more accurate and skilled
King Tendulkar Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 When you are bowling quick' date=' the margin of error is higher. People who played cricket would understand this, but those who watch cricket on tv and play playstation cricket would never understand it and its waste of time convincing them. :winky:[/quote'] When you bowl 90 mph and its a bit short and or a bit wide or a bit full. At that searing pace it can result in a wicket, due to reaction times/fear etc etc If that same ball is bowled at 75mph its 4 or 6. Cos slow so batsman can react better etc This does not mean want a guy sraying it all over the place. But fact is when bowl fast the margin of error is higher. It also means that when the fast bowler does bowl a good one it has more chance of getting the wicket then if trundler bowls it, the whole history of cricket shows this as well.
cricketlove Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 i do not know why people worries so much about pace. pace is just plus point.
Old guy Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 i do not know why people worries so much about pace. pace is just plus point. Not really pace destroyed one of the most solid sides in world in this series and nothing can refute that These guys are scared and anxious to be out there:giggle:
King Tendulkar Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 i do not know why people worries so much about pace. pace is just plus point. So why not bowl at 60mph? As remember pace is not important. Just be accurate ? In fact why 60, bowl at 50 mph!

sachin34357 Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Our guys do it in 45 degrees on flattest surfaces. +1
Zanjeer Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 [ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=pxVtDRKNEYE]Umesh Yadav - Irani Cup - 2011/2012 (10 over spell) - YouTube[/ame] this is umesh yadav bowling a ten over spell in Jaipur in a Ranji trophy match. This is what I call commitment and hard work. Our bowlers do it in high humidity and get less praise.
Old guy Posted December 15, 2013 Posted December 15, 2013 Johnson has not just bowled at pace. He's also been accurate with bouncers, targeted the stumps, swung the ball, seamed it, been backed by other bowlers, fielders stood up, his teammates have put on enough runs on the board to have him sufficient rest, and lastly, but equally crucially, helped by a nervous opposition who were tested by this Aussie bowling back home in England as well - sans Johnson. It has all had to come together for Johnson and his team and simply focusing on his pace alone is bogus analysis. Pace alone has not been the difference - every little bit had to fall in place for Australia and luckily for them it did. Fast bowlers should look to bowl fast, sure, but I won't take an overly one eyed view on its importance. true it has not been just pace..siddle and harris on other ends have been bloody accurate and johnson too now has left such a big mental scar that even his lose balls are not being attacked also in last game he got bit of reverse swing which made him twice dangerous and now things are normal and we are seeing that whole attack is dangerous and not just johnson and today was perfect example harris almost destroyed fingers of swann:giggle: they just know how to get these english batsmen out specially siddle and harris and johnson just cleans up rest of them before they even get set

In fact why 60' date=' bowl at 50 mph![/quote'] yes 50 mph can get you wickets if you get your line right and know how to swing the ball..bowlers with 130 ..macgrath, asif, munaf, philander, kalusakra, really depend on line and length. bowler with pace, Umesh, sami, ishant are not going anywhere with there pace. if you do not know how to swing and do not get your line right even 200 mile will not do anything for you.

O come on!!!!:hysterical: We havea 50 mph fan and anti 200 mph fan:hysterical:

vvvslaxman Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 johnson was clocking good speeds even 2 years back. He has upped his speed. But the speed of Johnson 2 years back is still better than all our bowlers now. But he was mocked for his inaccurate spray gun bowling. In the last 2 tests and in the ODIs in India he was deadly accurate.
maniac Posted December 16, 2013 Posted December 16, 2013 P.K bowling at 110K was as embarassing for me as an Indian fan as Dhoni bowling on the first day,People point out oh look P.K was super succesull in England lol......Yeah he got swing but he did jack with the old ball and just didn't have it in him to do anything against the tail....Now people will point out what about Sree and Ishant.....An attack of Zak,Sree and Ishant just helped tie a series in S.A just a few months back......Look at M.J,the guy is single handedly terrorising the Poms,Siddle and Harris are relentless from one side....Tundler like Watson sneaks in some cheap wickets....B.K too is not a long term prospect until he adds a few yards.....This is how it works.
