Match referees are biased against India: Sunil Gavaskar

It favours umpire bias becoz its job is to overturn howlers. If there is not enough evidence then it is reasonable to rule in favor of the umpires. No one gets screwed over with this.It is far better than getting howlers and having no option but to accept it Fact is every other cricket board is happy with it apart from BCCI and it looks highly whinning then when u whine about umpire decisions after rejecting DRS
not just indian 'whining' Michael Clarke: http://www.espncricinfo.com/australia/content/story/687577.html Otis Gibson: http://www.espncricinfo.com/west-indies-v-australia-2012/content/story/562003.html also we have won the only two international tournaments to use the DRS (CT2013 and WC2011)

and in the process of doing this- it reinforces and augments umpire bias- I thought the whole point about DRS was objectivity.

Only in case of Marginal decisions and when it comes to howlers it performs perfectly.Thats for what it is designed mainly. I would rather have howlers overturned and marginal decisions being with umpire bias rather than howlers go un corrected and deciding matches. If there was DRS we would have mostly won at Sydney. If there was DRS we would most like beat England in India(Cook not out was damn crucial and changed the course of the series) If there was no DRS we probably would have lost to Pak in world cup Semi. But i dont remember any match / cricket being benifitted by not overturning howlers

At times Gavaskar has a point, but he overdoes it many times. Classic example was when a methodology which an Indian mathematician had suggested to replace D/L rule was not accepted by ICC. Gavaskar put it directly to racial bias against mathematician who happened to be an Indian. I am sure Gavaskar wouldn't have understood anything about the formulae those were discussed in proposal.

don't speak up for your rights and we'll continue to end up with Faf Du Plessis type scenarios. A blatant ball tampering situation deserving of strict punishment swept under the carpet. Do you need to be knocked out before you realise someone is punching your face?

Dont remember that but our way over the top reaction to the Sydney Gate and then the hypocritical stand against DRS definitely estabilised India's reputation and the likes of Gavaskar and Shastri doesnt help either.
2001 Ball tampering in RSA where India said either Denness goes or they leave.

If aussies have a banter & swear words at their opposition its called aggression. If virat shows middle finger' date=' he is most hated boy in the cricket world. Total bias[/quote'] He was showing it to the crowd. I saw that live. There is a difference with abuse to crowd and swearing at the opposition.

He was not the first one either, greg chappel when he was indian teams coach showed it in the public. Im happy with the agression if both teams are allowed to show it.

Both teams? Kohli literally abused the crowd, there are no double standards because no one else was/is dumb enough to do that. No ones if you do it off field.

The fact is he was abused by the crowd and he gave it back. The problem is indian crowd doesnt involve in verbals with foreign players like the aussie crowd which they say to check mental toughness of the opposition player. If that was the case aussie players would have reacted the same way to indian crowd. :winky:

Mr Denness fined or suspended 6 players of the Indian team.Unprecedented!!!! I was sad that the BCCI didnt pursue the case further.
