Not historic but beign one of the greatest since this one, seriously would be the victory which will be coming against all odds. Young team, going against South Africa in South Africa. Toughest place to play. India already hammered so bad in odi's that people who had hopes that INdia might do well even one session in test, had started hoping that Indian can stand to steyn and co and make it atleast a 4 day game. Bottom line is that this line up was expected to lose(By people. Not by me) badly with no batsman who has scored runs in test in South Africa..

Pakistan have been killed 3-0 on both of their last tours in test, goes on to show it's a different level when it comes to test cricket. Let me give you this instance. Whole series in Dubai and previous SAf tours, under Smith and De Villers captaincy, Steyn used to get the ball when Hafeez comes in and he would take him in his first over. Now recently in one of the games, Hafeez scored a fifty and Faf Du Plesis, the captain at that time, never got Steyn to bowl to Hafeez, otherwise his tally of getting Hafeez out would have increased 1 more. That was the only game Hafeez scored against South Africa in recent series of games against them. Pakistan went on to win that game as they put a good total. Now take this to test, how long can Hafeez be scoring. Steyn would eventually come bowling in long spell under Smith, and things would change.

There is a reason why no other subcontinent team has ever won an ODI series in south Africa. We couldn't win one game ... forget the series. It's good that our maharathis are doing well overseas for once. It's not as big a deal as some people make it to be. To add to that, the match isn't even over yet. Hopefully they'll show more consistency.

You do understand India are playing like this in South Africa without any practice games where as Pakistan had a long tour in 2013 and then went to South Africa again in nov 2013.
