Sid Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Insyead we were gracious, bowled 1 more over than required
JourneyMan Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Negative bowling isn't cheating, it's a tactic that can sometimes cause the batsmen to make silly mistakes.
Trundler27 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Well done India ..to snatch a Draw from the jaws of Dhoni. This ^^ Bowlers did their bit.... i heard multiple times on the stump mic where dhobi kept telling his bowlers 'baahar daal'..... and he has 1 sweeper and third man and yet there was so much room that a good batter could still get boundaries.... he just didn't allow them to attack the stumps with extra support on the leg side instead and if the batters wanted to take risks by moving around the crease then they would be welcome. He is just a horrible horrible captain in test matches

SLICKR392 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Only if you were our kaptaan today' date='we would have been 1-0 up in the series :(([/quote'] We have enough people on ICF to assemble a prodigious XI.

Tailender Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 I'm not hurt' date=' we would've won this test had we played with the correct bowling attack. And we were on top for 4 days. You lot got spanked 0-3 against the same side, what does that say about your phaasshhtt bowlers?[/quote'] Anyone can say we "would" have won. Pundits were saying the same after Pak didn't play Rehman in cape town. We also went to South Africa with a pace attack with combined experience of under 8 test matches for the last two tests. Really easy to put excuses out there. Fact is that on this level you need to be able to take wickets on a day 5 pitch with uneven bounce and unpredictable seam movement.
vvvslaxman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Faf du Plessis says if you had asked us this morning that we would have saved the game we would have taken it. I was struggling a bit with cramps and some stomach aches too, which I dont normally get. I was thinking about Adelaide. I knew I had done it before and I just placed a very high price on my wicket and made sure the Indians found it difficult to get me. The wicket was just a blur. In hindsight, I should have been out there holding one end while Vern went took it on. India bowled very skillfully. Obviously they bowl in difficult conditions at home so if there is anything in the pitch they find it. They swing it both ways and it was a real test batting out there. We take it as a moral victory here and will look to build on this momentum in Durban
Trundler27 Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Only if you were our kaptaan today' date='we would have been 1-0 up in the series :(([/quote'] Not really... even you could have done a better job than dhobi
vvvslaxman Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 There you go. What you see on TV what batsmen and bowlers see on the ground. For them it is immense pressure.

Yes i see your bowlers are doing alright today but if you look at the first two ODIs your bowlers blew close to 300 runs both the time. Wanted to know your thoughts on what happened their without talking about how Indian bowler and their ability to defend big scores ? Also what did Hafeez do to become this magical batsman all over again ?
Sid Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Not really... even you could have done a better job than dhobi Dont underestimate yourself now, those minutest details werent picked up by everyone :acute:

Exactly, and you need to play your best possible attack to give yourself a chance to do so.

Wanted to know your thoughts on what happened their without talking about how Indian bowler and their ability to defend big scores ? Also what did Hafeez do to become this magical batsman all over again ? Dude, what do Pakistani bowlers have to do with Indian bowlers? When India plays well I give them their full due. This was a pretty sub par performance here, so you've got to take some criticism.
mancalledsting Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Would have easily won if Yadav was playing instead of Ashwin totally agree- but realistically who would have had the confidence to make that decision before the test? Plus india have no viable part time spin option in the absence of viru and SRT- if the tracked had turned- everyone would have cained dhoni and fletcher for not picking a spinner
Tailender Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Exactly' date=' and you need to play your best possible attack to give yourself a chance to do so.[/quote'] I think that's debatable whether or not Ashwin wasn't the best choice... I certainly wouldn't drop him for another bowler. I'd drop a batsman instead, because India needs a spinner. Likewise, playing Tahir was a big mistake too. Played right into india's hands.

Sarkar Posted December 22, 2013 Posted December 22, 2013 Like it or not..It's the truth mate...Indian bowlers lack that killer instinct. They choked. we know which team choked despite having three wickets in hand by the way didnt your team got shot for 49 all out in test series in south africa we atleast drew test despite not having practice games.
